It seems that everyone traveling on the road has an important reason to reach their destination. While many people are simply impatient, others have a real reason to be driving faster than the rest. One couple experienced some mechanical issues when on their way to an important event.

Sharleen's mother was terminally ill and wasn't expected to hold on for much longer. Along with her husband, Sharleen was driving towards Cambridge when the couple got into an accident. The BBC reported that the couple was arguing with their insurance company on the phone when a bystander spotted them on the side of the road.

Dean Moore pulled over to help the couple instead of driving along. He quickly learned about the purpose of their trip and could hear the insurance company refusing to help amend the situation. Moore wanted to help the couple after realizing that their insurance company would refuse to arrange an alternative form of transportation.

Even though the couples was only an hour into their long drive, Moore offered to complete the final 200 miles to Cambridge. Moore waited patiently as the couple said their final goodbyes to Sharleen's mother. Moore was even willing to drive the couple back to their home after the event.

Before making his generous offer, the insurance company had revealed that an alternative source of transportation could only be provided in three hours. This wasn't enough time for the couple to see their sick relative before her passing. Moore's act of kindness came at the most opportune moment.

Despite the long drive, Moore refused any payment from the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Gillies were blown away by the act of kindness and didn't understand why Moore would offer his time and energy in such a generous way. Moore admitted that he was happy to help and didn't want any sort of reward or recognition for the kind act.

In total, the trip took four hours. The Gillies feel indebted to Moore and hope to be able to repay the kind act in the future. The couple reached Sharleen's mother before midnight, but she was already unconscious. The trip was worth being able to see her for one final farewell.
