Man Crashes School Dance Team Performance And Amazes Audience

With the presence of hundreds of creative ideas about marriage proposals on the internet, it’s impossible not to find one that will make your partner say “yes.” While some prefer to have an intimate proposal, there are also those who want to go big, with some doing flash mobs or putting on a fireworks show. But whether it’s grand or simple, it’s important to know one’s partner before planning the proposal, as some like extravagant gestures while others appreciate modest moves. Either way, your partner will say ‘yes’ as long as you share the same genuine feelings for each other.

For one high school staff member, he preferred to do the grand version – and he sought the help of a colleague and the members of a dance team to help him out in making it happen.

Shant Arslanian, who works as an IT man at Buena Park High School in California, realized it was time for him to propose to his girlfriend. So, he started looking for ways for him to get that sweet “yes” from his partner by searching for video proposals on YouTube when he came across a flash mob of a guy who joined a group of dancers before proposing to his girlfriend in Downtown Disneyland.

“I took that concept and incorporated it into the high school where I work at,” Shant wrote.

And what better way to do it than propose with a Bruno Mars song about wanting to marry the person he loves?

“I mentioned my proposal idea to our school dance teacher and asked if she can help. Without hesitation she said yes. From that point on for the next month, I practiced with her dance team and we came up with a choreography to the song of (Marry You) by Bruno Mars,” he shared.

Shant admitted it took him a while to learn the choreography since he didn’t have any dance experience himself.

He and the dance teacher decided to do the proposal during one of the school’s varsity basketball games, particularly during halftime.  

And so he came up with a plan to convince his girlfriend to attend the game. He told her and his family he would be receiving an award that day for his performance at work.

“I made up a fake story to get Lina and my parents, and brother (all of whom did not know what was about to happen) and told them all that I was going to be presented an award for my work accomplishments,” he said.

And on the 27th of January 2017, he finally proposed to Lina – and it was a success. They tried to set up cameras from different angles to get a view of the performance as well as catch Lina’s reaction.

The basketball players left the court as soon as halftime started, and the dancers soon took over the spotlight. But it wasn’t until around a minute and a half into the performance that he came out to join the dancers.

When Lina saw Shant enter the court, Lina’s jaws dropped. Then, someone came to pick her up and brought her somewhere where she could get a full view of Shant’s epic dance showcase.

Then, she started jumping for joy after seeing Shant busting some moves. Around three minutes into the performance, Shant went to his knees and took the ring from his pocket before a group of students rolled down a huge tarpaulin that says, ‘Lina Will You Marry Me?’

Of course, Lina said yes – and she had the most awesome reaction to Shant’s proposal!
