You wouldn't notice anything special about the houses along Mountain View street. The homes look unassuming and quite normal for that area of Pflugerville, Texas. Communities in this area are accustomed to seeing gray, beige, and white houses with clay shingles, reported by Fox 7 Austin

Although some houses may have some unique plants in their garden, nothing about the homes stand out as extraordinary. All of this changed when Emilio Rodriguez decided to move into the neighborhood.

At the young age of four, Emilio was involved in a terrible car accident. Although he survived the accident, he was left with permanent paralysis below his waist. Unfortunately, the trouble didn't stop there as Emilio had to undergo countless surgeries throughout this young adulthood.

Today, Emilio is healthier and functional. He has learned how to become independent. He doesn't allow his physical disabilities to affect his life overall. He is a very positive and self-sufficient individual.

The color pink has always had the ability to cheer up Emilio. Whenever he sees the boisterous color, he can't help but smile. He learned about the positive effects of this color when he was dealing with his challenging medical issues growing up. He finds that the color pink provides him with a mental boost and a sense of calm.

2018 was a happy year for Emilio. He finally closed on his dream home in the small town of Pflugerville, Texas. When Emilio bought the house, his friends and family members knew exactly what he was thinking. They begged Emilio not to paint the house in his favorite color. Emilio decided to follow his heart instead.

After several days of searching for the perfect shade of pink, Emilio landed on a Pepto-Bismol-pink. He covered every inch of his home's exterior in this color. Emilio was going for a "wet slime" appearance.

The color selection was inspired by Emilio's tattoos. Emilio doesn't feel that the pink house is enough. He has plans to add a driveway with pink tiles and a series of pink spotlights in the yard. He also wants to color his wheelchair pink.

Several of Emilio's neighbors are not happy with the color selection.

They feel as though the house sticks out too much from the rest of the homes. Despite the controversial color, Emilio's home is going viral online.

What do you think of Emilio's color choice? Would you be angry if you were his neighbor? Let us know in the comments and pass this along to your friends and family to see what they think, too!
