Man Buys Chick-fil-A For Two Soldiers. When Nine More Show Up, Immediately Buys Their Food, Too

May 07, 2019 by apost team

Two brothers in North Carolina decided to do something special for their wives, so they took the kids out to lunch while their wives went shopping. However, this was not the kindest thing that they did all day.

As they were eating at a Chic-Fil-A in Durham, two military professionals in fatigues walked in and got in line. The younger of the two brothers immediately stood up and walked over to the two soldiers.

As a random act of kindness and to honor the soldiers, he offered to buy their lunches and asked everyone in line if they could stand aside so that the soldiers could receive their meals first. Of course, the other customers in line did not hesitate to oblige.

Then, nine more soldiers walked in the door and got in the line to buy their lunches. The brother immediately offered to buy their lunches as well. He mentioned later that he thought a bus of soldiers may have been nearby unloading soldiers, but the brother said he would have bought lunch for 200 more soldiers if they walked in as well.

"He didn’t even bat an eye.." his brother later wrote on a social media post.

From his vantage point at their table with the kids, the older brother captured the entire moment on video to remember the event and to share with others.

For the brothers, this event was more than a simple random act of kindness. It held personal meaning.

Only a week before the event at Chic-Fil-A, their stop-brother committed suicide. He had served a tour in Iraq, and he ultimately succumbed to severe PTSD. When the younger brother had finished buying the soldiers’ meals, he asked them to please be aware of their fellow soldiers who may show signs of PTSD and to work hard to get them the medical attention they need.
