Christopher Hopkins AKA The Makeover Guy is known for transforming women past a certain age and inspiring them to live their best lives. Well, now he's turned his immaculate eye on the opposite sex, as he gives Minnesota-native Robert a makeover he won't soon forget!

Be sure to reach the end of this article to see the full video :-)

Robert hails from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and doesn't appear to be all too happy with his appearance. He says he wants to get rid of his facial hair, which has been greying and is even white in some parts as it's been rather itchy. He says: "It makes me look really really old." Overall, Robert doesn't want to be as "transparent" anymore.

So in comes Christopher and his magic makeover touch! Christopher explains the history of Robert's beard:

"After 32 years together, we've figured out what works best for Robert. Every so often he decides to grow his facial hair, and I let it go, because he's going to do it anyway. I don't hate it."

That's a very realistic approach—people go through phases with their style throughout their life, and if someone wants to grow a beard then they should do it, otherwise, they'll just be wondering "what if?" But Christopher does have an expert's reason as to why he doesn't think the beard suits Robert, as he explains:

"He just has such a beautiful jawline that I hate to see it covered. Especially with white. He's an 'autumn' and it's just not as appealing."

Being an "autumn" refers to a type of color analysis, wherein a person's features, such as their skin tone, eye color, and hair, are considered and are attributed to one of the four seasons. Whichever season one is decided to be, dictates what colors suit them best and help to bring out their features.

Robert's transformation is very natural and might not appear like a lot has been done, but the difference is night and day. Christopher calls it a "mankover" and explains that they colored "his hair because warmth is better for his skin. Gray removes the color from his green eyes." Meanwhile, Robert's beard is gone, and now his sharp jawline and handsome face are on full display.

But the difference isn't only physical, it's mental too. Robert says he now has more inspiration, is motivated, and is getting more stuff done. He also says that people notice him more and that he feels less transparent. He also makes light of his beard saying that before he had "resting a**hole face" and that people were afraid of him. What a difference he must be feeling now!

Robert's transformation might seem effortless but he admits to understanding how much work it takes to look your best, saying: "It takes work to look good, especially as we age. Challenge yourself, to make yourself feel better." He then shares a bud of wisdom about relationships, saying: "When you come home from work you wanna look good for whoever's on the other side of the door." And he's not wrong—changing our appearance to make ourselves feel good, both physically and mentally, can have a profound effect on our lives and also that of our significant other.
