A fox cub recently got stuck in the bottom of a drain that was located at a cul-de-sac, and a call was made to the East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service in England. The rescuers immediately went to work looking for the animal.

They were not sure where to look at first because there many pipes leading in various directions. Chris Riddington, the rescue manager, reported to the news that they used a mobile phone to get a look inside the pipes. They also used a number of other objects to search the pipes, such as hose pipe, drainage rods and insulation.

The founders of the organization, Chris and Trevor Weeks, were at work looking for the fox cub while the mother of the animal showed up to watch the events unfold.

"We were amazed that the vixen turned up, it was almost as if she knew we were trying to rescue her cub," said Chris in the video description.

The rescuers could hear the cub making noises inside the pipes, but they were unable to reach the spot where it was located. The rescuers didn't want to give up because they believed the cub was likely to die if it were left in the pipe.

The men spent 90 minutes trying to get to the cub until they finally realized that they would have to change their strategy if they were to succeed. They came to the conclusion that the best course of action would be to wait and see what would happen next. Chris Weeks explained that fox cubs often like to return to the entrance from which they traversed into the pipe system.

The rescue crew decided to take a break and go back to work later to see if the situation would change in favor of rescuing the cub. When the men returned, Trevor reached into the pipe and his hand came in contact with the cub. He tried several times to gain a grip on the fox. After several attempts, he was able to grab the cub's tail and carefully pull him out of the drain.

The rescuers wrapped the cub in some dry towels and took him to their care facility to clean him up. After a short while, the cub was returned to the scene of the rescue where his mother was waiting to be reunited with her baby. The cub and his mother were both thrilled to be together again, and the rescuers were overcome with emotion over the experience.
