Maggie Doyne On How You Should Forget About 80 Million, And Just Start With One

Maggie Doyne, a student of life and an inspirational-speaker, shares how she learned something that changed her life and the lives of others.
"Forget the 80 million, start with one", was the one thing that inspired Maggie to completely change her life.
Maggie was just an American girl from New Jersey that ended up in a Himalayan village, helping to raise over 200 children that had been orphaned due to a civil war and rampant disease.
This crazy story began with a sudden realization that Maggie had at the age 18. She knew so little about herself and realized that she should get to know more about the world (and herself) by taking a trip around the world

Packing a backpack, Maggie prepared to learn about as much as she could. One day she was walking in Nepal and she locked eyes with a girl named Lacora.
Lacora was tasked with a job every day to take loads from buses into the villages. All day, she'd perform the same task, making one or two dollars in one day to help feed her family. As a Nepalese orphan, this was her life.
Devastated, Maggie knew she had to help. She wondered where the world went wrong, allowing any child to live such a life
As Maggie quickly learned, there were over 80 million children like Lacora in the world. While this number was overwhelming in the moment, Maggie asked what would happen if she decided to invest in just one child?
Maggie invested in a child named Hema. She put her in school, followed her progress, but it wasn't enough. She found some land that was $5,000. Calling home, Maggie asked her parents to send some of her life savings.
Having saved up money since she was six years old, Hema had enough to purchase a property in Nepal. With a property that Maggie would use to start a school, she wondered, "If I could do one, why not 10?"
Maggie shares that her desire was to educate all the women and girls so that they could have fewer children, raise better families, and raise more educated children.
Sharing that we all have talents, Maggie says she's lucky that she found hers. The most important lesson Maggie learned that she says everyone else can benefit from is that we all have to live our lives with what we have right now.
We all have the dreams, passions, and abilities that we have in us right now. We must take advantage of that and live every day as if it matters.
Maggie is certainly an inspirational young lady. What did you think about her story? Let us know - and make sure to spread her message!
