Madonna Grabs Her Ninth No. 1 Album On Billboard 200 Chart With 'Madame X'

Madonna achieved her ninth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart as her hit album, Madame X, takes the lead. Among female artists, Madonna has the second-most No. 1 albums. Barbara Streisand is first with 11 No. 1 albums.

Madame X was released on June 14th with a tracklist of 15 songs. The album features other artists such as Maluma, Anitta, Quavo, and Swae Lee. According to Nielsen Music cited by Billboard, the album earned 95,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. within its first week, and of that sum 90,000 were in album sales.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based metric system that includes traditional album sales, along with track and streaming equivalent albums. "The new June 29-dated chart, where Madame X bows at No. 1, will be posted in full on Billboard's websites on June 25," Billboard reported

Madonna is no stranger to the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart, she first garnered the top 10 spot when her album Madonna reached No. 8 when it debuted 35 years ago. From then she has gained at least four top 10 album spots. According to the singer's website, she will be going on her Madame X Tour in September of this year.
