Low-Cost Airline Company Bans Kids In Section Of Plane For Child-Free Zone

Dec 27, 2021 by apost team

If you’ve ever flown on an airplane, you know the struggles of being sat next to or near a baby or young child. No matter how long the flight is, any time spent next to a crying baby or child feels like it drags on forever. While listening to music or watching a movie on the plane can help reduce some of the sounds, it’s hard to ignore a wailing baby for hours on end. Fortunately, one airline is doing something to make sure people will not have to deal with this scenario, helping to ensure that passengers will have a peaceful flight.

Scoot is a low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines that launched back in 2012. It now offers a childfree zone on its planes on flights operating services from the United Kingdom, which really took off in popularity in December 2021. Specifically, the route from London Gatwick to Bangkok has become a popular selling point for the airline and for its potential customers.

Although this isn’t the only airline that essentially bans children from a particular part of the plane, it is notable for being pretty inexpensive while still offering the many amenities that plane passengers look forward to on a long flight, such as an inflight meal, entertainment, and potentially even extra legroom.

Along with this, the airline and its international flights are effective at giving passengers the comfortable flight experience they desire. Read on to find out more about how this airline is catering to people hoping to get the most out of their flight while enjoying each moment as much as possible.

People hoping to get a good jump start on their vacation or business trip are hoping to enjoy an extra sense of comfort and tranquility by purchasing a ticket from Scoot as it now offers flights where children are banned from sitting in certain seats. According to the Daily Mail, the direct flights from London Gatwick to Bangkok have economy fares starting at about $237 and have grown in such popularity and demand that many of the flights through Jan. 8, 2022, are completely booked.

There are many upgrades available anywhere from $18 and up, with a section called ScootinSilence that doesn’t allow anyone under the age of 12 to sit in, according to the Daily Mail. The section is located between the economy and the ScootPlus cabin.

Scoot’s Chief Executive Officer Campbell Wilson said:

“For nearly 10 years, Scoot has empowered travelers to customize their flight experience as they prefer, whether it be with extra legroom, checked baggage, free carry-on luggage of 10kg (about 22 pounds), inflight Wi-Fi, tasty meals, ScootinSilence or just enjoy an unbeatable airfare.”

Passengers have also expressed their love for ScootinSilence by leaving reviews. One person said, “...We highly recommend it! No crying kids and seats were comfy!” Another said, “This ticket still falls under economy class, but I personally think that it is worth the money to upgrade to this area of seating. Also, as no kids is allowed, it is a really quiet trip and I like it.”

According to the Daily Mail, Japan Airlines also has a feature on its booking system that shows potential passengers which seats on the plane are set to be occupied by children aged two or younger.
