Lost, Newborn Fawn Walks Up To Little Girl – Now She's Called The Deer Whisperer

Are you ready to witness a profound level of cuteness, unlike anything that you have ever seen before? If so, then you need to check out this heart-warming footage of a baby deer approaching a little girl called Maya in 2013. Based on this endearing clip, people all over the world are now dubbing Maya as “The Deer Whisperer" after a newborn fawn approached her without fear.

The quaint story begins with a dad casually enjoying the outdoor scenery with his young daughter. While enjoying a little nature walk, something completely magical and unexpected happened: A tiny fawn walked right up to the girl, and the two became instant friends. By nature, these creatures are incredibly timid, but this precious fawn showed no signs of shyness. Instead, the pint-sized critter instinctually bonded with its miniature human companion. As the child’s father, Brad Herring, explained on his Vimeo account:

“The fawn had a good sense about Maya and followed her every step. They were inseparable from the moment they met.”

Maya’s newfound buddy is undoubtedly the epitome of cuteness. The kid’s dad, Brad, just set new fatherhood goals for everyone by filming and sharing this beautiful video of his daughter. He captured an unbelievable moment on film, and the immortalized memory is supremely touching.

When Maya turns to the camera and smiles, it’s simply impossible not to share her unfettered joy during such a lovely experience. The uncontainable excitement shows in the way she emphatically gestures towards the animal. This is enough to enliven anybody’s day. 

When you spot an animal this young, it’s hard not to feel a sense of concern for their well-being, especially considering its mother was nowhere to be found. Brad wisely assumed the affectionate creature was in need of maternal attention, and Maya made it her mission to help this exceptionally cute deer reunite with its mom.

Amazingly, the cuddly mammal followed her every step as they peacefully meandered through the forest together. Their charming interactions are truly a sight to behold.

Time is always fleeting, and nothing lasts forever. While we know this fact objectively, it doesn’t make our goodbyes any easier. Sadly, the two eventually had to part when the fawn cozily plopped down in the pile of leaves where they first found him.

This melancholy interval is made even more emotional with the use of Yes I Know by Black Lillies playing faintly in the background. At this point, all Brad and Maya could do is hope for the best. Although they didn’t find the mama doe personally, the tale does have a happy ending after all. 

Fortunately for all the concerned viewers out there, Brad posted an uplifting update that indicated a wonderful wildlife reunion:

“We saw two doe and two fawns in our neighbor’s yard yesterday and then again a fawn and doe in our backyard today, so we are pretty certain that she was found.”
