Many classic tales have been told about the bond between a man and his dog. When a beloved pet goes missing, some people don't give up hope of being reunited even if several months have gone by. Most dog owners would probably be willing to travel pretty far to get their pet back, but this story shows just how far some people will go.

Dara Prak of Houston, Texas probably had given up on ever seeing his beloved pit bull Titan after he was stolen from Dara's back yard. As reported by ABC 13, the thief had left the collar behind, so it was obvious that there had been foul play. When his dog was gone, Dara was heartbroken, so he immediately began searching for his missing pit bull.

Dara started out by using social media to post notices about his missing pet, and he visited several shelters in the Houston area to see if Titan might have been found and turned in at one of the facilities. Dara never gave up hope that he might find Titan once again. However, Dara admits that, after three months had passed, his hopes began to wane.

Several months later, due to the wonders of modern technology, Dara got an amazing phone call from a South Carolina animal shelter. The worker asked Dara if his dog was missing because Titan had a microchip embedded beneath his flesh that revealed the name of his caretaker and the location of his home.

Dara and his girlfriend immediately set out on a road trip that totaled over 1000 miles so that they could see their beloved dog once again. When they arrived at the shelter and found their long-lost dog, it was apparent that he had suffered some abuse. The shelter workers did not have any information about where the dog had been over the preceding months.

On the bright side, Shelter staff expect that Titan will make a complete recovery. An emotional video was recorded that captured the tearful reunion of Dara and his beloved dog.
