Lost Dog Found Trapped In Muddy River Bank Receives Heroic Rescue

Two years ago in Ulysses, Kentucky, animal lovers breathed a sigh of relief at the news that Ginger, the beloved dog of a local family, had been saved from a grim, watery fate. After going missing, she was found stuck on a muddy riverbank but was thankfully rescued by two dog-loving heroes. The video is inspiring to watch and promises to restore the viewer's faith in the goodness of humanity.

According to Rumble, it all started when Ginger wandered away from her family’s home and had been missing without a trace for three days. Suddenly, someone heard a miserable howling from the other side of the river.

Her owners were alerted and rushed to the scene only to discover their darling dog hopelessly stuck in the mud. The bank was slippery and steep, so they were unable to reach her. They notified the fire department and called Lawrence County dog warden, Johnny Rickman.

Everyone wondered how in the world Ginger had gotten stuck down there. Had she been exploring the ridge and lost her footing, sliding all the way to the river’s edge? Now, was she too injured to make her way back up, or was she just stuck in the mud?

Either could be the case, but there was only one way to find out. Someone had to go down and help her. That 'someone' turned out to be Johnny Rickman. With the help of a kind-hearted neighbor named Mitchell McCoy, Rickman sprung into action. With a tether tied around his waist so he could be lowered safely, Rickman descended toward Ginger waiting helplessly below.

The video is tense — we wonder how Ginger will react when Rickman reaches her. There was nothing to fear, however. She remains calm and seems to appreciate his presence as well as his gentle pat on her head. For his own safety, he carefully ties a string around her snout, in case she becomes frightened and tries to bite him during the rescue.

He has no reason to worry, however, because as soon as he picks her up, she goes limp from exhaustion. She is a muddy, wet, and pathetic sight to behold in his arms as he turns and considers his ascent back up the ridge. The trip back proves to be more difficult. Rickman struggles to find the best way to climb back up the ridge as McCoy gently pulls on the tether to assist him. Finally, the pair are able to reach the top, to the joy of everyone on the scene.

Thank goodness for happy endings! Everyone is safe. Ginger is given hugs and a warm blanket before she is taken to recover at the Tri-County Animal Clinic. Watching this video is a must for animal lovers everywhere, so pass this link to anyone in your world who needs a life-affirming boost.
