Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli asked a court judge in May 2021 for permission to travel to Mexico in June since they had both completed their prison sentences. The two paid off the fines they owed and almost met their community service requirements that they were assigned regarding their roles in the college admissions bribery scandal that came to light in 2019.

The couple has been married since 1997 and started a family together consisting of two daughters, Olivia Jade Giannulli, 21, and Isabella Rose Giannulli, 22. Loughlin and Giannulli worked with William “Rick” Singer to help get their daughters into the University of Southern California through bribery. They paid him a large sum of money by pretending to donate to his organization, the Key Worldwide Foundation, to then have Singer pay the college off in return for admitting the two daughters.

The couple’s scandal was revealed in 2019, along with plenty of other wealthy celebrities and business moguls who allegedly committed a similar crime in what has become known as Operation Varsity Blues. A Netflix documentary titled “Operation Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal” was released in March 2021 that provided more detail and reenactments, including a script created through actual wired phone calls captured by the FBI.

Loughlin and Giannulli both cooperated with the court process and pleaded guilty and have since done their part to make up for their crimes.

Most recently, Loughlin has joined other celebrities in a TikTok video created for a user named Faith in order to celebrate her graduation. Read on to learn more about Loughlin’s feature in the video, as well as the other celebrities that participated.

According to People, “Loughlin admitted to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud” back in May 2020. Giannulli pleaded guilty to the same count, as well as another count of honest service wire and mail fraud. They worked with Singer and Key Worldwide Foundation to get the University of Southern California to recruit Olivia and Isabella as part of the crew team, even though neither daughter ever engaged in the sport. People reported that they paid Singer $500,000 to help with bribing the college. According to the Charity Navigator, the Key Worldwide Foundation was a for-profit organization that provided underprivileged students with an education that would normally be unattainable to them.

Now that Loughlin’s prison sentence has officially been served, the former Hollywood actress is re-connecting with fans. According to PEOPLE, stars such as Bob Saget, Mark Wahlberg, and Drake Bell joined Lori Loughlin in congratulating TikTok user Faith on her graduation. Faith’s father reached out to the celebrities, as he explained in the TikTok video. He said:

“I made a list of all the actors that Faith grew up watching and I emailed them on Thursdays. I think that’s what my trick is: emailing people on Thursdays. That’s when you get a response from people. And then I do a follow-up email on Fridays and you’re good to go.”

In the video, 56-year-old Loughlin congratulated Faith among the other celebrities. She said:

"Congratulations on your big day!"

The appearance was rare, as Loughlin has not been in the public spotlight much since her release from prison.
