Lonely Chimp Saved From Roadside Zoo Meets Another Chimp For First Time In Years

Sep 24, 2019 by apost team

Iris is a 32-year-old chimpanzee who had been living by herself in a small and dark cell at a roadside zoo in Georgia. The poor chimp was so bored with nothing to do and nobody to interact with her. She would comfort herself by spending time huddled under a dirty blanket.

It was truly a sad situation. However, Iris was finally rescued from her dismal living situation when a benefactor gave money so that PETA could free Iris from her cage. The rescued chimp was sent to Florida to live at a Save the Chimps sanctuary.

Shortly after arriving at her new digs at the sanctuary, Iris was introduced to another chimp named Abdul. The two are next-door neighbors and it is clear that they hit it off from the very beginning. Because of her isolation at the Georgia facility, this was probably the first time that Iris had seen another chimp in years.

You can imagine how excited she was to see that she was not alone. While Iris will be introduced to more chimpanzees soon, this first encounter is a true joy to watch.

Animal lovers everywhere should be thrilled that Iris has finally found happiness. You have to check out this adorable video of Iris and her new friend. After you have watched the cuteness, be sure to spread the video to everyone else that you know. It is hard not to smile after watching this story.
