Loki A Grumpy Sphynx Cat Looks Like He Judges People's Poor Life Decisions

The ancient Egyptians revered Sphynx cats, and cat lovers today still admire the breed for their unique, distinguished appearance. Known colloquially as simply the "hairless cat," Sphynx are one of the oldest cat breeds and hail from a long line of royalty.

You may have heard of Grumpy Cat, who sadly passed away earlier this year, but even before her own death, there were actually two extremely grumpy cats walking this earth.

Loki was a Sphynx whose sour puss expression has the power to amuse as much as intimidate. Named after the famous Marvel comic book supervillain, who's played by actor Tom Hiddleson in the movie adaptations, Loki possesses a scowl that could stop anyone in their tracks.

Unfortunately, Loki passed away exactly one year before Grumpy Cat. In May 2018, his owner broke the sad news of his passing via Instagram. Although we're sad to hear that both Grumpy Cat and Loki have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, we're grateful for the opportunity to still have a laugh by looking at all of their old photos.

Although Loki may not be able to cast his scowl on the world anymore, he has two adorable siblings you can follow on Instagram. Pearl and Herbie are also Sphinxes who Loki's owner adopted in New York City. The two cats are much less menacing than their late older brother, but they have all of his charm and photogenic nature.

While they look regal and indifferent, Sphynx cats are actually quite playful. These high-energy cats are low-maintenance due to their extremely short coat, making them an excellent addition to any home looking for a playful and eye-catching addition.
