In a YouTube video, one dad asks his little girl to sing “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” and she offers her own charming remix to the classic nursery rhyme. How she mutters in between the verses before returning to singing this song is absolutely adorable.

There are many nursery rhymes that parents have sung to their children through many generations. These classic songs and nursery rhymes are passed down from generation to generation and continue to delight children no matter the era in which they are born.

“Old MacDonald Had a Farm” is based on the nursery rhyme “Old Macdougal Had a Farm” which originated in 1917 according to CSU Fresno. While the original song has been a favorite since then, this little girl has decided to remix it a little bit.

Using a book as her guide that also has five finger animal puppets attached to it, she sings the nursery rhyme based on each of the finger puppets which are a cow, pig, dog, cat, and duck respectively. In between each verse, she picks up the next finger puppet in her hand and correctly identifies that animal by name and by the sound it makes.

She portrays her growing knowledge of animals well via the vocal accuracy of each animal. Her rendition of a duck quacking is spot on!

You’ll definitely have a happy laugh by watching this video. You can even show it to your young children to help them learn how to sing this nursery rhyme too. Maybe down the line he or she will make their own little remix of “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” as well.
