Little Girl Calls Military Dad, Sees Christmas Tree In Background And Breaks Down Sobbing

Eric Morski is an Army Captain who has spent the last six months in Nepal. He did everything that he could to make sure his wife and young daughter heard from him as much as possible while he was away.

The family lives in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and loves to hear from Eric on the phone. Every morning, Captain Morski would FaceTime his young daughter, Iliana, as she ate her breakfast. He would also eat dinner with her through FaceTime at night.

They were able to share their “breakfast” almost every single day. They also talked on the phone before bed on most nights. So when Morski was told he was being sent back home, he was eager to include their ritual in his surprise homecoming.

Meredith, the Captain’s wife, spoke to Fox 46 about the special surprise. She told her daughter to get herself ready for bed like always. When she was in her pajamas, she got into bed and FaceTimed her dad. She waited until his face popped up onto the screen. Except this time, the background looked a little different. That was because he was already at home! Her father was literally FaceTiming her from their own kitchen downstairs.

It only took a few seconds for the 10-year-old to realize just what was happening. When it all clicked, she ran from her bedroom and flew down the stairs. She then jumped right into his arms.

Meredith stood by as her young daughter cried and hugged her father tight. It was one of the best Christmas surprises ever. She was shocked that after so long her father was actually standing in their home.

The family dog even got in on the excitement! Oliver jumped around as everyone cried tons of happy tears. We are so lucky that Meredith decided to share the sweet reunion with the news. Fox 46 Charlotte then posted it on their own page. Soon, the post was flooded with happy comments and sweet sentiments.

Captain Morski later found out that he will be stationed at Fort Bragg for the next year. We are thrilled they will be spending so much time together!
