Little Girl Begs A Big Ship To Honk: Instantly Regrets It

“Be careful what you wish for” the saying goes. Why? “Because you just might get it.” – Perhaps someone should let little Vilma of Sweden know that. On the other hand, it’s probably too late for that wisdom now.

This video, captured by Vilma’s mother, shows exactly what happened when Vilma tried to convince a passing freighter to blow their horn, and succeeded. At first Vilma stands near the edge of a concrete pier, with her mom filming behind her.

As she watches the giant ships go by, she gestures enthusiastically by pulling down on an imaginary strap, begging for the boat to honk its horn . “Toot! Toot!” she calls out, over and over. As the seconds tick by, her voice gets quieter and quieter and her gestures get smaller and smaller, probably thinking that no one on the boat will answer her.

Finally, TOOT! TOOT! the ship honks back.

The video shakes slightly as her mom jumps, but Vilma’s reaction is priceless. Her hands fly towards her ears, she pivots and runs away from the boat, back to the camera and her mother. The ship’s deep, bone rattling rumble was a far cry from her adorable, high pitched “toot, toot!”
