Little Cowgirl Shows Dad The Way It’s Done In Country Dance Challenge

The bond between a father and his daughter is one of the most special relationships that exist. Not only does a good bond between the two signal a strong family relationship, but research has shown that girls who grow up with a strong bond with their fathers are more confident. Not only that but there are a whole host of other positive outcomes including that they feel better in themselves, end up having better grades in school, are more likely to get into graduate school and finish a degree, are able to be assertive without being too aggressive, and are more confident in future relationships with men.

With so many positive outcomes to a close father-daughter bond, it would be in every dad's interest to establish a good connection with his daughter. But to find the similarities between a young girl and a grown-up man isn't always easy — often, girls and their fathers do not share hobbies. Of course, sometimes a father does pass down his favorite pastimes down to his daughter. 

Nevertheless, there are a few activities that the pair can enjoy together such as going out for ice cream, playing board games, or other simple pleasures. And then there are the dads who'll go the extra mile, say dressing up with their daughter or even learning a dance. 

One father-daughter duo did the latter when in May 2020 Nick Garcia uploaded a video to his YouTube channel in which he and his daughter teamed up to try their hand at the GitUp challenge — a dance craze to Blanco Brown's song "The Git Up" that went viral on TikTok. Their attempt not only brought them closer but impressed the internet, as it's gone viral in its own right.

Uploaded to Nick Garcia's YouTube channel on May 18, 2020, the video of Garcia and his daughter dancing clearly left an impression on the public, as it's since amassed over 549,000 views! The dance might seem simple but Garcia and his daughter have really made the effort with their version of the dance. For starters, they filmed it outside in front of what appears to be a barn. As the song is a country-pop song, it makes sense that they wanted to theme their video. Not only that but the daughter is dressed for the part, as she dons a cowboy hat and plaid shirt. 

The song even fits the father-daughter duo performing it as it begins with "Grab your loved ones," as it instructs them to "follow after [Brown]." Garcia and his daughter are naturals, as they begin stepping side to side once the song gets going. The lyrics of "The Git Up" explain just why the song became so popular and was turned into a viral dance craze. They go: 

“Go’n and do the two-step, then cowboy boogie. Grab your sweetheart and spin out with ’em. Do the hoedown and get into it. Take it to the left now and dip with it. Go’n throw down, take a sip with it. Now lean back, put your hips in it. Let’s have some fun.”

As Garcia and his daughter dance to the song, it's clear they both have some serious moves! His daughter has the full exuberance of a young girl and she certainly looks the part with her cute country-themed outfit. Meanwhile, Garcia shows he can also follow choreography — which is more than most dads we bet!

What's even more adorable is that they've matched their dance moves to the song's lyrics. For example when the lyrics say "take a sip with it," Garcia and his daughter take a sip from the juice boxes they're holding. And when the song goes "dip with it" the pair throw a dip into their choreography. It's incredibly adorable to watch and the final result is not only flawless, but it's also truly heartwarming. We can only imagine the laughs and fun they had while learning the dance together!

Throughout the dance performance, Garcia and his daughter are clearly having fun, as they smile not only at the camera but also often at each other throughout. This is the kind of father-daughter bonding that is sure to keep their relationship strong throughout their lives, as they've started building memories together early. One commenter noticed as much, as they wrote:

"Too cute! And Dad's got the moves!😊. Cute Duo! She'll never settle for c*** with a loving Dad like this😍"

They have a point — Garcia is proving to be such a great dad that he's also setting an incredible example of what men can be like to his daughter. Another commenter wrote:

"This is totally a dad done right moment! she will remember this the rest of her life. Well done Dad! <3 much kudos to you and your little miss!"

We agree, this is definitely a "dad done right moment!" Garcia has shown the sweetest way in which he's bonded with his daughter and he's sure to be an inspiration to other fathers out there.
