Lisa Rinna ‘Played Hard To Get’ Before Settling Down With ‘Hero’ Husband Of 25 Years Harry Hamlin

During the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, Harry Hamlin was a certified heartthrob. He first began finding success as an actor during the late 1970s and skyrocketed to fame with his role as Perseus in the 1981 fantasy film “Clash of the Titans” and also as Michael Kuzak in the legal drama series “L.A. Law,” which aired from 1986 to 1994. Nowadays, the star is still very prevalent on television and in films.

Hamlin was born on Oct. 30, 1951, in Pasadena, California. During his school years, he attended preparatory schools and private boarding schools and was very active in extracurricular activities, including soccer, lacrosse and acting. He even attended classes at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts.

While Hamlin showed to have many strengths during his high school and college years, he worked hard at making a name for himself in the acting world following his graduation from Yale University in 1974, where he obtained a dual degree in drama and psychology. Hamlin continued working toward his education as well, receiving a Master of Fine Arts degree in acting two years later.

Finally, Hamlin found himself working in the entertainment industry, and it wasn’t long before he became a household name and was even considered one of the most handsome men in the world. Today, he is still very popular thanks to his role in “Mad Men” and his appearances on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alongside his wife, Lisa Rinna and their children. And now, Hamlin and Rinna have been married for a remarkable 25 years! Let’s take a look at this pair’s long-lasting relationship.

Hamlin has been a notable star for over 40 years, acting in a range of roles in both film and television. In more recent years, fans were able to watch Hamlin on the period drama TV series “Mad Men.” The show ran from 2007 to 2015 and depicted the social changes in the United States during the 1960s and early 1970s. Since then, Hamlin has continued to find more work on television.

Being the heartthrob he is, it’s no surprise that Hamlin is a married man. However, his relationship timeline hasn’t always been so simple. After meeting actress and model Ursula Andress on the set of “Clash of the Titans” in 1979, the pair began dating and welcomed a son together the following year. However, their relationship ended in 1983.

Afterward, Hamlin was married to two actresses: Laura Johnson from 1985 to 1989, and Nicolette Sheridan from 1991 to 1992. Near the end of the decade, Hamlin married “Days of Our Lives” actress Rinna, and the two have since had two daughters named Amelia and Delilah. Much of their relationship can be seen on the reality TV show “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” as Rinna is one of its main stars.

Speaking with PEOPLE in 2022, the couple revealed how they felt the first time they saw one another. Hamlin said he was “stricken” by Rinna’s beauty, while Rinna revealed that she was “starstruck,” as Hamlin was an incredibly popular actor at the time. 

However, the couple did experience a few bumps in the road early on in their relationship. Hamlin told PEOPLE that Rinna “played hard to get.” However, the latter threw away the unspoken “rules” she was following, and the two quickly fell madly in love.

Nowadays, they’ve been married for 25 years, and it’s evident their love has only grown stronger over the years. “I think it’s great to be with someone who’s so smart,” Rinna said. “I think that that is really great, so I really respect him. I like who he is as a person. He’s a really kind, good man.”

Rinna is incredibly supportive of her husband. According to the Daily Mail, she boasted about Hamlin’s success back in March 2022 as he landed a huge upcoming role in a studio film — something that he hadn’t done in four decades. Rinna said, “He hasn’t worked for a MAJOR film studio in 40 years. Talk about tenacity and standing your ground …”

And in August 2022, the actress posted a throwback Thursday photo on Instagram, celebrating just how far she and Hamlin have come in their relationship. On Aug. 25, 2022, she uploaded a wedding photo of herself kissing her husband with the caption:

“#tbt 25 years ago. My Hero ❤️”

So, just how have these two stunning stars made their marriage work for so long? “(The secret is) being diametrically opposite,” Hamlin told PEOPLE. “I like going up to the mountains, and her idea of camping is anything below the 10th floor of the Four Seasons.”

The couple also explained that having respect for one another and a willingness to always hear the other out is also important in making a marriage last. “We’ve always heard each other,” Hamlin said.

Along with clearly having beautiful hearts — especially for each other — the pair are also pretty easy on the eyes. “And it doesn’t hurt that he’s so good-looking,” Rinna added.
