Trigger Warning: This article contains mentions of suicide that may be troubling for some readers.
Born on Feb. 1, 1968, in Memphis, Tenessee, to parents Elvis and Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley was one of the biggest celebrity children upon her birth. However, tragically, she passed at the age of 54 on Jan. 12, 2023, after being rushed to the emergency room when she was found unresponsive in her California home.
Lisa was born exactly nine months after her parents famously tied the knot in a brief ceremony in their suite at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. After Elvis’s death in 1977, she was listed as a beneficiary on her father’s last will, along with her grandfather Vernon and great-grandmother Minnie. However, Vernon passed in 1979, and Minnie a year after. This made Lisa the only surviving beneficiary of Elvis’s trust. In 1993, she inherited her father’s estate, which had grown to $100 million.
She was the only daughter of Elvis, which means that her four children were his only grandchildren. Lisa had actress Riley Keough and her late son Benjamin Keough with her ex-husband Danny Keough while she shared her twins, Harper and Finley, with her ex-husband, Michael Lockwood. She was also famously married to popstar Michael Jackson and actor Nicolas Cage.
As the sole child of the King of Rock and Roll, Lisa inherited her father’s Memphis estate, famously called Graceland. But since her passing, people have been curious about who will now inherit it. Read on to learn more about who will take over Elvis Presley’s 13-acre Graceland estate in Memphis.

According to TMZ sources close to the scene, Lisa was pronounced dead on Jan. 12, 2023, after she was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital, where she was taken after suffering cardiac arrest.
Her housekeeper had found her unresponsive in her Calabasas, California, residence. Her ex-husband Danny was present at the scene and performed CPR on her until emergency first responders arrived. At least one dose of epinephrine was administered while attempts at resuscitating her were being made. Paramedics were reported to have regained a pulse before she was transported to the hospital. A representative for Priscilla issued a statement on her Facebook page, which read:
“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time.”
In another statement to the outlet, Priscilla’s representatives said the family was “shocked” and “devastated” by the tragic death of Lisa Marie. It said they were also “profoundly grateful” for the support, love, and prayers from their fans and urged for privacy during this time.
When Elvis died in 1977, he assigned Lisa to be the sole heir of his estate, but Lisa, who was 9 years old at the time, could not handle the inheritance until she became 25. When she turned 25 in 1993, the trust was dissolved. She then formed the Elvis Presley Estate to keep Graceland managed throughout the years.
According to ABC, Lisa sold 85% of Elvis Presley Enterprises, the trust's business entity, while leaving the remaining 15% to herself. But, she retained ownership of the entire Graceland mansion and its contents which includes the cars, costumes and awards of her father.

In 1988 at the age of 20, Lisa married her first husband, Danny, a musician from Chicago. The following year she had her first child, daughter Riley, who went on to become a successful actress and son Benjamin in 1992. Although the couple divorced in 1994, they remained good friends.
In 2008, she gave birth to Harper and Finley, the fraternal twins she shared with Lockwood.
However, tragedy hit the family when it was reported that Benjamin had passed at the age of 27 in 2020. He had been found dead with a gunshot wound in his upper torso, believed to be self-inflicted. Benjamin’s death left Lisa Marie “beyond devastated,” as her representative, Roger Widynowski, told People Magazine in a statement:
"She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life."
Since Lisa’s passing on Jan. 12, 2023, fans of the Presley family have been curious about who will manage and inherit the remaining assets that Lisa has left, specifically Graceland.
According to an email response to the Los Angeles Times by a Graceland spokesperson, it seems Lisa’s surviving three children will inherit the property.
“The property is in a trust that will now go to the benefit of Lisa Marie’s children. Nothing will change with the operation or management,” the email read.
The 13-acre property in Memphis will now be in the hands of Lisa’s remaining three children – actress Riley, and twins Harper and Finley.
