Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Longtime Believers’ Embrace Her Acting Return In Successful Holiday Film

Nov 20, 2022 by apost team

Most people predicted that Lindsay Lohan would have a bright future after starring in "The Parent Trap" as both Annie and Hallie. She went on to appear in several films throughout the early 2000s as well, including “Mean Girls” and “Freaky Friday.” The red-haired, freckled sweet girl charmed almost everyone with her smile — but as the bright flame of fame began to burn too brightly, the starlet began to get into more problematic habits.

Like many other child stars who tasted the bitter astringent of fame too young, Lohan had a tumultuous time after her adolescence that was filled with drugs, partying, rehab stints and even police arrests. Unfortunately, for a long time, Lahon did not resemble the sweet-natured characters she played in "The Parent Trap." Though she had a difficult time finding her footing again, she has been delighting fans in more recent years with very uplifting news.

She became engaged to her partner, Bader Shammas, on Nov. 28, 2021, and the pair tied the knot the following year. And in November 2022, Lohan became a bright topic of conversation once again as her Christmas movie, “Falling for Christmas,” was released on Netflix. The romantic comedy film also stars Chord Overstreet, George Young and Jack Wagner.

The movie was a turning point in Lohan’s career as it marked one of her first roles back in a major production in over 10 years. Not only that, but the movie has done remarkably well thus far. Lohan has since credited her longtime fans for their loyal support in making the film and her revived career so wonderful.

Lohan was born in the Bronx in New York City in 1986 and grew up with her siblings on Long Island, New York. Lohan's mother was a singer and dancer, while her father was a Wall Street trader. All her siblings appeared in front of a camera, including her brother, who starred in "The Parent Trap." However, her childhood was often chaotic and turbulent. When she was three years old, her mother and father separated but later settled their disputes and got back together. This was short-lived, as they broke up in 2005 and filed for divorce in 2007.

Lohan kicked off her career as a child model when she was 3 years old. Her beauty and determination earned her a good reputation, and she appeared in many magazines, including Elle and Vogue. At the age of 10, she starred in the "Another World" soap opera as Alli Fowler. She would also star in other critically acclaimed films such as "Mean Girls," "Herbie: Fully Loaded" and "Freaky Friday." By the time she was 18, she was already a showbiz veteran, but her subsequent fame would come with a high cost.

Lohan had a challenging period focusing on her success and ended up in mediocre films that completely diverged her career. According to CNN, she was arrested and convicted in 2007. She later went to rehab for 250 days in different rehabs between 2007 and 2012.

Fortunately, it seems that Lohan’s personal life has turned a new corner. Today, Lohan seems to have moved past the troubles and seems quite happy with her husband, Bader Shammas. Us Weekly reported that the pair, who met in Dubai, had kept their romance private.

Not only has Lohan’s personal life had a happy turn, but so has her career. Her holiday film, “Falling for Christmas,” was released on Netflix on Nov. 10, 2022. The moving starring Lohan, OverstreetYoung and Wagner has done extremely well on the streaming service and has delighted fans with its heartwarming storyline. It even included a very subtle homage to the “Jingle Bell Rock” scene from “Mean Girls.”

The movie has done so well that it became the No. 1 movie in the world on Netflix!

Lohan took to Instagram to share her gratitude for the film’s success, writing:

“I can’t even begin to tell everyone how grateful I am for this incredible moment! To all of the fans and longtime believers in me, I appreciate you. My heart is filled with so much love and gratitude ❤️🙏 thank you @netflix for letting me bring this story to life with such a wonderful cast, director, producers and crew!”

Speaking with Forbes, Lohan revealed that she played more than just a character in the film – she had a hand backstage, too. She said:

“I always pay attention to all the little details on-set, so to be able to have that kind of role now was really exciting for me. Also, the editing process and all the end after the movie is being put together, I really got to be fully involved in that. I threw myself into it and it’s a different role that I really love and I’m not looking to give up any time soon. I’ve been on sets my whole life, so I feel like I have that to give now, so I want to use it.”

We’re so happy to see Lohan thriving and spreading cheer all around!
