Most people predicted that Lindsay Lohan would have a bright future after starring in "The Parent Trap" as both Annie and Hallie. The red-haired, freckled sweet girl charmed almost everyone with her smile — but as the bright flame of fame began to burn too brightly, the starlet began to get into more problematic habits. Like many other child stars who tasted the bitter astringent of fame too young, Lohan had a tumultuous time after her adolescence that was filled with drugs, partying, rehab stints and even police arrests.
Unfortunately, for a long time, Lahon did not resemble the sweet-natured characters she played on "The Parent Trap." Though she had a difficult time finding her footing again, she recently delighted fans by announcing her engagement to her boyfriend of two years, Bader Shamms on November 28, 2021. This is certainly exciting news and congratulations are in order for the happy couple!
While this development is something that Lohan can be happy about, this is not the first time that she has been engaged. Lohan was born in the Bronx in New York City in 1986 and grew up with her siblings on Long Island, New York. Lohan's mother was a singer and dancer, while her father was a Wall Street trader. All her siblings appeared in front of a camera, including her brother, who starred in "The Parent Trap." However, her childhood was often chaotic and turbulent. When she was three years old, her mother and father separated but later settled their disputes and got back together. This was short-lived, as in 2005 they broke up and filed for a divorce in 2007.
Lohan kicked off her career as a child model while she was three years old. Her beauty and determination earned her a good reputation, and she appeared in many magazines, including Elle and Vogue. At the age of ten, she starred in the "Another World" soap opera as Alli Fowler. She would also star in other critically acclaimed films such as "Mean Girls," "Herbie: Fully Loaded" and "Freaky Friday." By the time she was 18, she was already a showbiz veteran, but her subsequent fame would come with a high cost.
Lohan had a challenging period focusing on her success and ended up in mediocre films that completely diverged her career. And she started getting involved with rehab spells and run-ins with police.
As her fame expanded, she began spending most of her time at nightclubs and was arrested and convicted in 2007. She went to rehab and spent 250 days in different rehabs between 2007 and 2012. Thus, many people forgot about her fame and began remembering her for her problems with the law.

Lohan has had her share of troubled relationships as well, but her most prominently remembered one is with Egor Tarabasov. Tarabosov and Lohan had been photographed having a violent fight on a beach in 2016, which led to concerns for Lohan's safety according to the Mirror. The relationship ended in 2016 as well, but Lohan took past in a tell-all interview with Russian TV station Channel One to speak out about her fears concerning Tarabosov.
Vanity Fair reported that Lohan told the station, "I went to bed, and he broke into my house," adding, "He started strangling me. I feared that Egor may splash acid in my face. I jumped out to the balcony and shouted with all my force, 'He’s trying to kill me, call the police!' I am lucky to come to Moscow to speak."
For his part, Tarabov told the Daily Mail, "It has come to my attention that my former fiancée, Lindsay Lohan, is planning new smear campaign against me in the Russian and international media. My relationship with Lindsay came to an end in July 2016. In the weeks that followed, there were numerous attempts to discredit my name by inaccurately portraying the nature of our relationship, publishing distorted facts, and making false accusations."
Today, Lohan seems to have moved past the troubles and seems quite happy with her new fiance Bader Shamms. Lohan, 35, captioned her Instagram post, “My love. My life. My family. My future. @bader.shammas #love 💍" Us Weekly reported that the pair, who met in Dubai, had kept their two-year-long romance private.
