Leonardo DiCaprio's Girlfriend, Camila Morrone, Discusses Their 22-Year Age Gap

Leonardo DiCaprio, 44, and his girlfriend Camila Morrone, 22, have been dating since December 2017, but not without criticism. Camila Morrone finally addressed the couple's age gap in an Instagram story.

While it doesn't directly have to do with Leonard DiCaprio himself, the age gap between him and his 22-year-old girlfriend, model Camila Morrone, certainly brings Leo into question. Leo, 44, has been dating Morrone since December of 2017. The couple has gotten criticism about their age gap, but his girlfriend Morrone finally responded to those sending the heat.

According to Elle Magazine, DiCaprio met his current girlfriend through Morrone's famous stepfather, Al Pacino. The two have been reported as family friends after working on films together. 

This is not the first time that DiCaprio has been criticized for dating women much younger than him. In fact, one critic took to Reddit and created a graph that illustrates how DiCaprio, despite him clearly getting older, has not been known to have a high-profile relationship with anyone over the age of 25. 

When Morrone posted photos on Instagram of actors Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart, who had a 25-year-age gap between each other, followers responded with accusatory suspicion. Comments on her post suggested that her caption, "a love like this" was an obvious and direct comparison between her and Leo and the previous Hollywood couple. 

After seeing all of the criticism in the comments, Morrone took to Instagram once again and this time posted a story to address the hate. She said:

"Good morning people and happy Friday. I just read some of the comments on my Instagram and … my God, people are so mean and full of anger with people that they know nothing about. I guess I just hope on this Friday that people learn to live with a little less hatred and place their time and interests elsewhere, because living without hatred feels pretty good."
