Lady Gaga’s Acceptance Speech At The Oscars Was Super Inspiring

Feb 25, 2019 by apost team

It’s safe to say 2019 has been pretty great for Lady Gaga so far.

Our favorite pop diva, who recently showed off her acting talent in her hit movie A Star is Born, was Oscar-nominated for both her acting AND her singing this year; not too shabby for her first proper acting gig if you ask us!

Although Olivia Colman snatched the Oscar for Best Actress, Lady Gaga bagged her own for her song Shallow as Best Original Song.

Gaga has been blessing us with her musical genius since 2008 when she first released her hit single Just Dance. Last year, her acting talent was discovered by co-star and director Bradley Cooper, when she was cast as Ali, a rising star, in their movie together.

The two have since seen the dawn of a beautiful friendship, which has been ruthlessly covered by the press.

The pair is so good at making headlines, that even if you’ve never actually seen the movie, we’re quite sure you’ve heard their song at least a couple of dozen times!

Hence, it comes as no surprise the movie got a whopping seven nominations - although they ended up taking only one win home.

You can watch to Gaga’s inspirational speech in the video below:

Her speech, just as expected, did not disappoint:

"If you are at home, and you’re sitting on your couch and you are watching this right now, all I have to say is that this is hard work."

"I’ve worked hard for a long time, and it’s not about winning. What it’s about is not giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it."

"It’s about discipline, over passion, and it’s not about how many times you get rejected or you fall down or you’re beaten up."

"It’s about how many times you stand up and are brave and keep on going."

Watching the Speech, fans across the globe couldn’t help but notice fellow songwriter Jeniffer Hudsons very adorable reaction:

Although Lady Gaga was already so successful as a singer-songwriter, it’s understood why she was so determined to make her Hollywood debut.

Due to the amazing success the movie has had, it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing a lot more of her on the big screen soon enough!

And of course, as expected, we were once again blessed with another breathtaking rendition of Shallow.

Obviously, the performance did not leave a dry eye in the room - including Bradley Cooper!
