Lady Gaga Launches Mental Health First Aid Training Programs For High Schoolers

Lady Gaga is using her celebrity status to lead the way in mental health awareness. The pop star and actress has always been vocal about her own personal struggles with mental health. She even launched the Born This Way Foundation with her mother seven years ago in an effort to bring awareness to this pressing issue.

In addition to her famous musical talents, Lady Gaga is also an accomplished actress, starring in the 2018 hit movie "A Star is Born" alongside Bradley Cooper. The movie won Lady Gaga an Oscar for Best Original Song for her song "Shallow."

Despite all of this success, the star has struggled with mental illness. The goal of her nonprofit is to empower young people to come forward with their stories and share their own personal battles.

Lady Gaga uses her Instagram as a vehicle to promote her foundation and encourage others to truly share their feelings. She is known to get personal, sharing her own pictures and stories of her struggles with mental health.

Recently, the Born This Way Foundation partnered with Starbucks to promote World Kindness Day. The purpose of this day is to spread kindness through words, volunteer work, or other acts of generosity.

The foundation also just "teamed up with the National Council for Behavioral Health to bring teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) to the U.S.! This fall, we're expanding this evidence-based program to reach more than 20 high schools, empowering young people to support each other in times of need or crisis," the foundation said
