Lady Gaga is an international superstar for many reasons. The American singer, songwriter, and actress is known for her musical versatility as well as her incredible fashion choices. She is also remembered for her chart-topping hits like "Just Dance" and "Poker Face," and for starring in the film "A Star is Born." Gaga earned critical acclaim for her performance in the movie and was even nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.

The singer also contributed to the music in "A Star is Born," and with the song "Shallow," she became the first woman to win an Academy, Grammy, BAFTA, and Golden Globe Award in one year. Gaga is also considered one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 124 million records sold as of 2014. She is a pop culture icon and an incredible ally to the LGBTQ community.

The star is as well-known for her fashion risks as for her music and acting. Gaga has seemingly done it all when it comes to dressing up, even wearing a dress made entirely out of meat at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. At this point, fans are not often surprised by Gaga's choices, but now the star is able to wow her audience with looks that are both stunning and classic.

In early August 2021, Gaga walked into Radio City Music Hall in New York City wearing a gorgeous, retro, black, and white Rodarte polka dot dress, including a white collar and cuffs. The look was reminiscent of something Kate Middleton wore to Prince Charles' 70th birthday celebration. Keep reading to hear more about Gaga's look and how it compares to that of the Duchess of Cambridge.

In an interview with Harper's BazaarLady Gaga said that she doesn't see much of a distinction between her outrageous outfits and more understated looks. She explained, "I don't really view it as 'natural,' I think that artifice is the new reality. It's more about just being honest and sincere to the core of what you do. Whether I'm wearing lots of makeup or no makeup, I'm always the same person inside."

The publication then asked if there are ever times when she looks at herself in the mirror and thinks: Here we go again? "Sometimes I do. It all really depends on my mood for the day. But I think the perception that I 'put it on' every day is probably not true," Gaga shared.

Even what "putting it on" means seems to blur for the artist, who in her own way is performing every time she gets dressed. "Don't you think that what's on the cover of a magazine is quite artificial? There's this idea that it's all natural, but everything's been staged to look natural. It is also an invention. It's just that my inventions are different. I often get asked about my artifice, but isn't fashion based on the idea that we can create a fantasy?" said Gaga to Harper's Bazaar

Fans of the artist know that no matter what she is wearing, Gaga is expressing herself in an honest way. "I try to not focus on what people expect from me," she explains. "I think what has been lovely about my relationship with the public is that they expect something unexpected from me." Sometimes, the unexpected can be quite stunning, like with her Kate Middleton look, for example.

Only days after Gaga walked out in New York City wearing nine-inch platform boots paired with shimmery tights and a turban bodysuit, she surprised the public yet again with a look that the Duchess of Cambridge would shine in.

Gaga went in the direction of full Hollywood glam with a retro flare when she wore a black and white Rodarte polka dot dress that came with a white collar and cuffs. The silhouette of the dress was figure-flattering as she walked into Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The superstar completed the look with classy white stilettos pumps, black sunglasses, and a white handbag that read "Love for Sale." She also wore a pair of silver and pearl drop earrings.

Gaga's look was very similar to that of Kate. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a navy Alessandra Rich polka dot dress to a D-Day memorial exhibition and in a royal family portrait for Prince Charles's 70th birthday. Kate's dress also featured white cuffs and a collar and was completed with a cinched waist. The outfit also bears a resemblance to a look Princess Diana wore in the 1980s.

All of the women look absolutely beautiful, and it is fun to see how celebrities can inspire one another in the fashion department. Hopefully, we will see more classic looks from Gaga as she pulls them off so well. Never one to disappoint, Gaga always keeps her fans on their toes, and they never know quite what to expect from her, but they know that no matter what she wears, she always looks great.
