Kodi Lee Captivates Audience And Judge Simon Cowell With ‘Mesmerizing’ Performance On ‘AGT: All-Stars’

Kodi Lee is a pianist and singer who happens to be autistic and blind. He was born with optic nerve hypoplasia, causing him to become legally blind.

Lee stole hearts when he performed on “America’s Got Talent,” auditioning with Leon Russell’s “A Song for You.” Judges Howie Mandel, Julianne Hough, Simon Cowell and Gabrielle Union were blown away, so much so that Union hit the Golden Buzzer for Lee’s performance, which sent him all the way to the live shows. 

After his audition made its rounds online, Lee instantly became a viral hit. The talented performer not only captivated the judges but swooned the audience, resulting in him becoming the winner of the show’s 14th season in 2019.

Lee’s mom, Tina Lee, shared how she never thought he could become so famous from his talent. She told People, “I’m beyond proud of him, this whole thing has been magical, just to see the way that people are accepting him and loving him, it’s magical.”

Tina continued, “I never expected this to happen. I feel relieved I’m not the only one who’s seen this extraordinary ability. He’s got a real talent, and I’ve always known he’s this real talent.”

On top of that, Lee has shown that he is grateful for those who believed in him. “He just builds off the love and support for everybody, he loves his supporters!” Tina shared.

In 2023, Lee wowed audiences again when he participated in “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars.” The competition series features winners, finalists and fan favorites from the “Got Talent” franchise. Cowell and Mandel reclaimed their spots as judges, joined by Heidi Klum.

Lee’s performances continued to blow the judges away, proving that he’s even more of a star now than he was when he first became victorious in the franchise.

On Feb. 6, 2023, Lee posted on Instagram, encouraging his fans to watch him on “AGT: All-Stars.” The singer and pianist wrote, “Tonight Is The Night! @agt You Have Changed My Life Forever, And I Am So Happy I Get To Do What I Love Everyday!” 

He also promoted his single, “Hello World.” The song had been previously released just after the start of the new year, according to his Twitter.

On the show, Lee gave a moving performance of “Biblical” by Calum Scott.” His voice soared, and his piano-playing abilities were on full display, making for an unforgettable moment for both the audience and the judges. Klum even said that her “heart doubles in size” whenever she hears Lee sing.

Cowell chimed in with his own words of encouragement for Lee. He said:

“It is the people we’ve met along the way that make this show so special. And Kodi you’re one of these artists who are always going to be amazing. There’ll never come a year where you go, ‘Kodi’s not good anymore,’ because you’re always gonna be amazing. You’re always gonna be better. Your performances are always going to be mesmerizing, and really, honestly, you define what an All-Star is.”

Kodi enthusiastically replied, “Heck yeah!” He asked fans to vote for him so he could “change the world.”

According to The Sun, Cowell continued to praise Lee’s talents even after the singer left the stage. He had turned to the other judges and said that Lee is “in a different league from everyone else.” Cowell added, “I wish I could’ve given him a Golden Buzzer.”
