Kitty Falling Asleep While Trying To Accompany Its Owner To Work Late Is Cutest Thing Seen Today

Last December, Twitter user @yusai00 from Japan posted a video of his cat sleeping by his work area, accompanying its human as he worked late even though it was really tired.

Our pets love to keep us company, and sometimes they insist on doing that no matter how tired, sleepy or worn out they are. A cat owner in Japan discovered his pet's devotion was greater than the pet's need for sleep.

Keeping Each Other Company

Working or studying from home has become a way of life for many of us during the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, we're spending more time with our dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, ferrets, mice and other animal companions. Our animal buddies are probably thrilled because we're around all the time. We've gotten attached to these comforting, furry creatures, and they're equally attached to us.

There's nothing wrong with having a close companion of the furry kind. Although we sometimes think humans only bred animals to put them to work, we have actually had pets for a long time.

Having Pets Is Natural

According to Katie Moore of the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), we've bred animals for companionship for centuries. “According to history, animals were bred for certain purposes, including keeping human a company,” Moore says.

Having pets is good for us emotionally and physically. Studies have shown that interacting with an animal companion can reduce our stress levels.

Discovering a Deep Devotion

One cat owner in Japan discovered just how attached his cat is when the owner had to work late one night. As he posted to his Twitter account, his cat was determined to stay up late with him into the wee hours.

"I was doing some work late at night, and my cat did this," he wrote on his account. The video depicts his adorable brown cat sitting by a laptop and a pile of books on his desk. In the video, the cat drops his head onto the laptop as he falls asleep. The cat is in an odd position with his body sitting up and his head resting on the keyboard as he snores away.

A Touching Scene

It's clear this sweet, sleepy kitty struck a chord with many people. Another user posted his own picture. It showed him writing on a notepad while his cat slowly fell asleep right on the pad. These cats clearly did not want to give up quality time with their owners, even if the poor kitties were exhausted.
