Kitten Born With Two Heads Tries To Stay Alive While Her Owner Refuses To Give Up On Her

We hear about miracle birth stories all of the time. Whether there’s a pair of twins and one decides to prolong the birth to keep their sibling alive or a mother who was unaware she was pregnant giving birth to a healthy baby. There have even been stories about Siamese twins and controversial stories about them being separated. What about similar stories in the domestic animal world? How many stories have you come across of animal miracle births?

Ngern and Thong, which translate to money and gold, are the names of a two-headed kitten born in Thailand. While the owner Chabaprai Nilpet was coming home from work, her cat Snow was in labor giving birth to her fourth litter of kittens. Realizing she was struggling to deliver the last kitten, she took her to the vet for an emergency c-section. For the first time, however, Snow gave birth to a kitten Nilpet had never seen before: a kitten with two heads.

Unfortunately, the two-headed kitten had a rough time breathing on its own and had to be given CPR to keep her weak heart and lungs working. Once she was in good enough condition, Ngern and Thong were able to go home to be with their mother and siblings.

Due to her have very minimal physical abilities, Nilpet has to feed the two-headed kitten with a syringe to keep them alive. “The kitten needs to be fed by syringe and needs regularly chest rubs to spur the internal organs, but I will try my best to keep them alive.”

Nilpet considers this kitten to be a good luck charm, especially since her cat Snow has never given birth to a kitten like Ngern and Thong in four liters. Because of this in conjunction with her deep love for cats, she is choosing to do everything in her power to make sure the kitten survives.

While kittens like Ngern and Thong are incredibly rare and are typically born with health defects, there are global stories of cats with similar birth stories. While it may be challenging, raising a two-headed kitten has the potential to give back twice as much love.
