King Charles & Queen Camilla’s 2025 Christmas Card Is More Meaningful Than Ever

King Charles and Queen Camilla unveiled their annual Christmas card on Dec. 6, 2025, offering a personal reflection on a milestone year in their shared journey. The card features a photograph taken earlier in 2025 to commemorate their 20th wedding anniversary, presenting the monarch and his wife in a moment that symbolises longevity, partnership, and quiet resilience.
The couple married in 2005 after years of intense public scrutiny, following the revelation of their relationship during King Charles’ marriage to Princess Diana. Their wedding was deliberately modest, with a civil ceremony held near Windsor Castle, outside the official grounds of the royal residence.
Just 28 guests attended, including King Charles’ sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, and Queen Camilla’s children from her previous marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes. The understated nature of the event reflected a conscious effort to begin their married life away from spectacle.
In April 2025, King Charles and Queen Camilla marked their 20th anniversary with a post shared by the King’s office on Instagram. The video combined footage from their 2005 wedding with images of the couple on official tours and engagements across the United Kingdom and abroad. “20 Happy Years!” the caption read, set to “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)” by James Taylor, accompanied by a single white heart emoji.
As per Hello! Magazine, Queen Camilla spoke candidly about the milestone while addressing reporters in Rome: “Twenty years, who could believe it was 20 years? What is the secret? I don’t know … well… I suppose it's just sort of friendship, really.” The Christmas card image builds on that sentiment, offering a warm and reflective portrait that emphasises continuity over ceremony.

The photograph chosen for the 2025 Christmas card was captured by royal photographer Chris Jackson at Villa Wolkonsky in Rome during the couple’s official visit to Italy in April 2025. The setting, rich in history and elegance, provides a fitting backdrop for a celebration rooted in both personal and public significance.
Queen Camilla is pictured wearing a white and beige coat dress by designer Anna Valentine, accessorised with a lily of the valley brooch. In contrast, King Charles wears a striped blue suit, presenting a coordinated yet understated look. The message printed on the card reads:
“Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year.”
The traditional greeting reflects the tone of continuity and goodwill long associated with royal holiday cards. The image had previously been shared by the couple ahead of their April 9 wedding anniversary, alongside photographs taken near the Neronian spur of the Aqua Claudia, an ancient Roman aqueduct.
Accompanying those images, King Charles and Queen Camilla wrote, “As we begin our first visit to Italy as King and Queen, we are so looking forward to celebrating our twentieth wedding anniversary in such a special place – and with such wonderful people! A presto, Roma e Ravenna!”
The note was signed “Charles R.” and “Camilla R.,” using the Latin abbreviations for rex and regina, underscoring their roles as King and Queen while maintaining a personal tone. The reuse of the anniversary photograph for the Christmas card reinforces its symbolic weight, blending history, duty, and affection into a single image.
Together, the card and its message offer a snapshot of a royal partnership shaped by experience and endurance, presenting a modern monarchy grounded in shared history and mutual respect.
