King Charles & Queen Camilla Told Of Tragic Killing Of Royal Family Doctor
Oct 09, 2026 by apost team
The death of a respected British doctor with reported ties to the royal family has drawn attention to a community close to King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England.
Dr. Hannah Terry, also known as Hannah Cain, was found dead at her home in Dersingham on Oct. 4, 2026. She was 45 and the mother of three children. Her husband, Mark Cain, also 45, was subsequently charged with her murder.
Terry worked as a general practitioner at Grimston Medical Centre, near Sandringham. ITV News said she was part of a team of medical professionals available to care for members of the royal family when they stayed at the estate. The Sun reported that she had treated Queen Camilla and that Charles and Camilla had been informed of her death. Buckingham Palace has not publicly confirmed either assertion about Camilla’s treatment or the couple’s notification.
Sandringham House, a private royal residence, stands just over a mile from the property where Terry lived. Although the proximity of her home and reported royal work attracted national coverage, those who knew her also remembered her commitment to patients and family life.
According to ITV News, Terry had practiced medicine for more than 15 years and worked as a GP for eight. She also operated a medical aesthetics business alongside her general practice. On her business website, she described herself as a “caring and professional doctor.”
The case prompted tributes from people who knew Terry as a physician and as a mother. Her family’s words offered a personal picture of the woman behind the headlines, emphasizing her compassion, generosity and care for others.

Norfolk Police said Terry’s body was discovered at an address on Fern Hill in Dersingham on Oct. 4, 2026. Emergency responders had attended the home, where she was found unresponsive in an upstairs bedroom.
Court proceedings established that the couple’s three children and two visiting children were in the house for a sleepover during the period in which the alleged offense occurred. Prosecutors described findings from a post-mortem examination, including blunt-force injuries to Terry’s head and neck injuries consistent with compression.
The Crown Prosecution Service announced a murder charge against Mark Cain on Oct. 6, 2026. He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Oct. 7 and at King’s Lynn Crown Court by video link on Oct. 8. He was not asked to enter a plea during the latter hearing. A judge ordered that he remain in custody until a plea hearing scheduled for Dec. 3, 2026, at Norwich Crown Court.
In a statement released by Norfolk Police on Oct. 7, Terry’s family said:
“We are devastated by the loss of our beautiful Hannah.”
They described her as “kind, generous and loving; a beloved mother, daughter, sister, auntie, daughter-in-law and friend.”
The family added:
“We are incredibly proud of the woman she was and of the great care she took of all her patients who knew her as Dr Terry.” They requested privacy as they grieved.
Grimston Medical Centre temporarily closed following her death and later reopened. The practice said it would not comment on the circumstances and directed requests for official information to Norfolk Police.
Beyond the royal connection and the court case, her family’s tribute placed the focus on Terry’s life: a parent, relative, friend and doctor whose work and relationships mattered deeply to those around her.
