Animal rescue organizations are such heroes and their day-to-day work needs to be commended for looking out for animals that can’t look out for themselves. That goes for good samaritans that don’t just stand by, but do something about harm that comes to animals.

A bystander in Los Angeles recently stayed with a little dog that got hit by a car, waiting with her until Hope For Paws arrived on the scene.

According to a video special made by Hope for Paws, Noelle Hetzel was in LA and saw a black dog with short little legs get hit by a car. She immediately texted Hope For Paws on their emergency line, hoping that they could do something for her.

Hope For Paws immediately traveled to the scene, and was happy to see that Noelle was still there with the pup, comforting her and staying by her side.

They scooped her up and took her to the vet, who was another guardian angel for the dog, now named Honey Pepper.

The vet was horrified to see that her pelvis was shattered, and her tibia and fibula were broken. Most of the time, this would result in amputation.

However, Dr. Antonio Pedraza was able to fix Honey Pepper’s broken bones, and now she is jumping and playing just like her friends.

She always had hope in her big brown eyes, and she didn’t give up.

Honey Pepper got a wonderful new second take on life and she is now up for adoption at LA Animal Rescue.
