In a clip from "Too Large," Covington talked about some of the struggles he faced on a daily basis. "When I come in my classroom in the morning, I normally stay at my desk all day because I can only walk about 10 feet or so before I have to take a breather," he said. "So my coworkers may take my kids to lunch. They may take them to the buses." Covington added," "I get tired when I'm walking from one room to another, so I have chairs placed throughout the building where I can stop and rest."

While he's grateful for his career, Covington is an unmarried "hopeless romantic," and really wants to change so he can live his life to the fullest. "Every day I'm living, but I'm not living," the teacher said. "I'm ready to do something. I'm ready to change my life."

Finally, Covington took the next step into changing his lifestyle and creating a better life for himself. Another clip from the TLC series showed Covington getting ready for bariatric surgery and what his results have been like since. The teacher explained that he worked hard to lose the weight to qualify for the surgery and had really changed his diet and exercise routine.

It's clear that all of his hard work paid off, as Covington unveiled his new look in front of his friends and family four months after his surgery. He lost a whopping 124 pounds, dropping from 680 pounds to 556 pounds. "Now I'm able to do things that I once wasn't able to do," Covington said. His next goal is to reach 300 pounds or less so he can live life comfortably.
