Kind Stranger Sends Former Navy Dad Dying Of Incurable Brain Cancer To The Super Bowl

Most of us see the Super Bowl as a time of year where shouting at the TV, complaining about commercials and eating 3 days worth of calories in junk food become the norm.

For Steven Skinner, however, it was his last chance to make a life-long dream a reality.

Despite the lackluster game this year, it was a Super Bowl to remember for one family.

Steven Skinner spent 16 years serving his country in the US Navy. A little over a year ago, the family man suffered what was initially thought to be a small stroke while on a business trip. However, the news was much worse than a stroke. Steven was sadly diagnosed with glioblastoma, an extremely rare and incurable form of brain cancer.

In an interview with the Inside Edition, his son Andrew said doctors gave Steven the sad news that he only had four to six months to live around Thanksgiving in 2018.

Steven's loving son sprang into action, starting a GoFundMe with the hopes of raising $30,000 to send his dad to the Super Bowl. Attending the biggest game in all of sports has always been Steven's dream. Andrew was determined to make it happen.

Donations began pouring into the fund. However, it was one stranger that truly made the difference.

Mike Medici, president of Premier Transportation, called Andrew to say that he wanted to pay for the entire family to attend the game.

Steven’s wife, Lisa, said that she was speechless when she found out about the offer.

She even referred to Mike as Santa Claus and an angel. Although it has been a tough year for the family, the kindness of this stranger has made the burden just a little lighter.
