Kimmel Asks Pedestrians If They Care About Homo Sapiens, Proves We're All Doomed

If you watch a lot of late night television, then you likely already know that late night night talk show hosts love to do street questions and answers with the public. They’ll ask some question, like who is Donald Trump, that most everyone should know. The funny part is how many often don’t know it, though. That said, one recent street question and answer segment was no laughing matter.

So, with typical street question and answers, we can rationalize the why and how people may not know the answers. Perhaps, they don’t follow politics or sports at all. Maybe, they were too busy calculating some complex math equation to pay much attention to their history teacher. Whatever, but to not know that you, yourself, are actually a part of the question? Red flag for the survival of the fittest.

The answers to the question Jimmy Kimmel asked on the streets last week may indeed prove we are all doomed. The question came on the heels of a United Nations biodiversity report on the condition of the planet, which showed that the planet is in worse shape than in the history of mankind.

The report details that some 1 million species of plants and animals are on the verge of extinction. Keep in mind there are only 8 million plant and animal species known to man. The culprit of this culling and destruction? Human activity. Our exploding population has negatively impacted land, ocean, and freshwater, says the report.

On his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel led into the street question segment by sharing some of the UN report’s findings and calling upon the public to “act.” He jokes that we, humans, would ban together if it were us going extinct.

So, he asked a simple question to the people of the street: Do you care about the extinction of homo sapiens?

Homo sapiens refers to one particular species - humans. So, Kimmel is basically asking humans if they’d care if they were the ones going extinct. The responses would’ve been hilarious if they weren’t so terrifying for mankind’s survival probabilities.

Answers compared the “homo sapiens” to dinosaurs, Bigfoot-like creatures in a zoo, and wild animals we should separate ourselves from. Some were willing to donate to care for these creatures and others could care less if they lived or died.

Did any even have a clue that they were a part of the question?

Watch all the answers in this video to find out for yourself, but be prepared to be left in disbelief:

Did you know that humans and homo sapiens are one and the same? What did you think about the answers Kimmel found on the streets? Leave a comment with your thoughts, and don’t forget to pass this along to others to raise awareness.
