Kim Cattrall Gives A Glimpse Of Her Secluded Home In The Middle Of Nature That She Shares With Rarely-Seen Partner

Kim Cattrall is popularly known for starring in several movies and TV shows over the years. Although she’s a public figure with countless fans from around the world, not much is known about her private life.

Cattrall was born on Aug. 21, 1956, in Liverpool, England. When she was only 3 months old, her family moved to Canada, settling in the city of Courtenay, British Columbia. She returned to England at the age of 11 but returned to Canada after one year. By her late teens, she had already developed a deep love for the arts and knew she wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

At the age of 16, she left home to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. This bold move marked the beginning of her journey into the world of acting. With determination and perseverance, she honed her skills, and by the late 1970s, Cattrall began landing small roles in television series and films, gradually gaining recognition for her talent.

However, it was in 1998 that Cattrall achieved widespread acclaim and recognition for her unforgettable portrayal of Samantha Jones in the hit HBO series "Sex and the City." As the bold, vivacious, and unapologetically confident PR executive, Cattrall's performance was a revelation. 

Her portrayal of Samantha earned her numerous award nominations and critical praise, and she became an iconic figure in popular culture.

The hit series later had two movie installments which fans loved and adored. However, when the time came and a sequel TV show titled “And Just Like That…” was released, Cattrall was nowhere to be found as her character of Samantha Jones was written as if she was staying in London, away from her pals Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes.

It was believed that the reason why the actress sat out from the reunion series was because of her alleged feud with Sarah Jessica Parker that had been going on for a while.

After it was confirmed that a third movie installment for “Sex And The City” would no longer happen, Kim Cattrall told Piers Morgan in a 2017 interview that she would never do another film with her former co-stars and she was never friends with them in the first place.

There was also a shocking Instagram post in 2018 where Cattrall publicly called out Parker amid her brother’s death, after the latter publicly sent her condolences to Cattrall. She wrote in a post, “I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker.”

Cattrall was able to make a shocking return in the finale episode of “And Just Like That…” season 2. However, she didn’t directly interact with Parker’s character, but rather she was on the other line of a phone call with her. Her scene famously only lasted for 73 seconds.

In a June 2023 interview with “The View,” Cattrall opened up about her role, as she revealed that she personally got a call from the head of HBO.

"It's very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, 'What can we do?'" she told the hosts and added that she wanted Patricia Field, the famed costume designer who worked on the original series, to come back and dress her.

When asked about whether she would come back in the third season as many fans wanted her to return, she said, "That's as far as I'll go.”

Regardless, Cattrall assured her supporters that Samantha Jones would always be a part of her life, as she said, “She gave me so much and I’m so appreciative of her."

Despite her fame, fans only know little about Cattrall’s personal life as she rarely speaks about her partner, Russell Thomas. However, she was able to share details about her relationship in a 2020 interview with People Magazine.

During the beginning of their relationship, the actress, who was married three times in the past, mentioned that her boyfriend felt like they “needed to get out of town” so they went to her house in Canada. The couple first met in 2016, and at the time, they had kept in touch but didn't know each other very well, and then he decided to come to Vancouver.

“He came and we got along great, and we've been together ever since!" she added.

Cattrall gave more insight into her relationship, as she explained that she’s very comfortable around Thomas due to his “wicked sense of humor.”

"I love him… And he was worth waiting for,” she said.

Meanwhile, the actress has shared glimpses of her home on Vancouver Island, which is breathtaking. In one Instagram video, orcas could be spotted swimming behind her backyard.

According to Hello Magazine, Cattrall purchased the home in Canada in 2014. She previously resided in the Hamptons for a long time, but she's still kept her property in the state of New York.

She told House & Home in a 2016 interview that she would often go back and forth to Vancouver Island to visit her family, but she never really saw herself moving there full-time, until one day she felt it was time for her to "come home." 

Cattrall noted that her home is a reflection of her personality, as she took great joy in expressing herself through its interior design.

“There is no work here for me, except relaxing and just going for walks,” she said.
