Kidnapped Toddler Rescued Thanks To This Construction Worker Listening To His Gut

Colin Blevin was contemplating missing work because of hip pain but decided to go in anyway. The 44-year-old from San Jose arrived at his job site early in the morning only to find a Honda Accord blocking the entrance. Blevin asked the driver to move the car, taking note of the baby in the back seat.

Something seemed off about the situation to Blevin so kept an eye on the suspicious car. Blevin's gut was proven right when he saw the man break into a nearby vehicle. The next thing that Blevin knew, a woman approached him saying that the driver of the vehicle had asked her earlier in the morning to take the baby.

Although Blevin did not know this at the time, an Amber Alert had already been issued for the one-year-old baby boy in the back seat of the car. Apparently, the infant's father had left the car running for a moment while he slipped inside to grab something. When he came back out, the car and the baby were both gone.

Ray Gutierrez had stolen the Accord and inadvertently taken the baby as well. Gutierrez had tried to hand the baby off to the woman, claiming that he did not know how to handle babies.

Blevin immediately took the car seat out of the car and told Guitierrez that he was not leaving with the baby. Guitierrez then took off but was later apprehended.

Thanks to the quick thinking of Blevin, little Emiliano is now back safe and sound with his family. It is a good thing that Blevin did not let the hip pain keep him from going to work that day.
