In May 2017, a 16-year-old boy suffering from spinal muscular atrophy appeared on stage to sing at his school talent show. His Dad Lee played the guitar and the young man decided to sing ‘I Told You So’ by Randy Travis and no one from the audience knew what to expect.

It didn't take long for the footage to go viral. Despite the low resolution, you could still hear what a brilliant voice Jared has. He has the makings of a real country crooner and the fact he's in a wheelchair should not be a barrier.

In the original footage, you can hear Jared cover Randy Travis' song "I Told You So".

Given the enormous reaction to it, it isn't surprising that Travis and his wife heard about it. They, like the rest of us, were blown away by this young man's talent.

Randi’s wife Mary David Travis wrote: ‘Jared, you covered Randi’s song beautifully! Just want you to know Randy teared up when he listened to it this afternoon. Great job and we hope that one day soon we can meet you - we would be honored! Keep up the fight, the spirit and the music, you are a very talented young man. God bless you and keep you in the palm of his almighty hand. Sending love and gratitude’.
