Kelly Osbourne has never shied away from honesty, especially when it comes to body image and the emotional toll of public scrutiny. During an interview featuring her mother, Sharon Osbourne, broadcaster Piers Morgan highlighted an Instagram clip in which Kelly addressed ongoing criticism of her appearance. The discussion unfolded as Sharon reflected on a deeply emotional period after losing her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, on July 22, 2025.
Kelly first entered the public eye as a teenager on MTV’s reality series “The Osbournes,” a platform that brought fame but also relentless commentary about her looks. Over the years, she has repeatedly spoken about the damaging effects of being judged primarily for her weight rather than her work, resilience, or growth. That pressure, she has said, followed her through every stage of life.
In a May 2025 interview with PEOPLE, Kelly discussed how deeply entrenched the criticism has been. “I have been a drug addict, an alcoholic … I’ve been a complete mess, disrespectful to people, horrible – but I got more s--- for being fat than I did for anything else. It’s insane,” she explained. She added, “You’ll never read an article about me that hasn’t got a comment about my weight,” noting that scrutiny persisted whether she was heavier or thinner.
Kelly has openly shared that she explored numerous paths toward better health, including lifestyle changes and medical support. “I tried probably everything that there is out there, whether it be surgery, medication, diet and exercise,” she said. “I got my mind where I needed it to be, and everything started to fall into place.” Her experiences continue to fuel broader conversations around body autonomy, mental health, and compassion in public discourse.

Kelly has also been candid about how public criticism shaped her pregnancy experience. Reflecting on celebrity culture and media treatment of expectant mothers, she recalled how Jessica Simpson faced ridicule for pregnancy weight gain.
“Long story short, I saw what they did to Jessica Simpson and I thought it was disgusting,” she said, continuing, “I was so frightened that would happen to me too that I hid.”
Kelly explained that she chose privacy as a form of self-protection.
“I just didn't want pictures out there. I didn't want to face it, and have people be like, ‘Oh she's a moose!’ So I just cut the problem out.”
Despite the isolation, she described an unexpected benefit: uninterrupted time with her father, Ozzy. While her partner, Sid Wilson, was touring, Kelly moved back home, creating moments she has described as deeply meaningful.
“We played Jenga, we played cards, we had like 20 different TV shows we were watching at once,” she shared, adding, “We had the best time together.”
Fast forward to the Instagram clip shown on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” where Kelly addressed comments questioning her health. She stated:
“To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like ‘Are you ill,’ or ‘Get off Ozempic, you don't look right.’ My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family. And I choose to share my content with you and share the happy side of my life not the miserable side of my life.”
Kelly then added in the since-deleted clip:
“So to all those people, ‘f--- off.’”
Mom Sharon immediately backed her, saying:
“She’s right… She’s lost her daddy, she can’t eat right now.”
