In early May, singer and judge of “The Voice” Kelly Clarkson suffered tremendous pain when a cyst on her ovary burst during filming for the show.

Clarkson opened up about the ordeal as it was quite traumatic since the singer had appendicitis while hosting the Billboard awards a week before this incident occurred.

The 37-year-old sat down with People to talk about her recent health scares. If there was any doubt that Clarkson wasn't a professional entertainer, these recent incidents show Clarkson is perfectly capable of giving incredible performances while being in extreme pain.

“I just didn’t want to leave people hanging,” Clarkson said of how she was able to perform continuously at the Billboard Awards in May as she had a burst appendix.

The singer underwent emergency surgery after the show and was able to get back up on her feet working and performing just a week later. As Clarkson was filming live shows for “The Voice” she began to feel horrible pain.

“Blake [Shelton] was talking to me and all of the sudden, everything he said just went away and I had to grab his arm and I was like, ‘Something is wrong,'”she said.

The singer learned that a cyst burst on her ovary, she said it was more painful than her appendicitis.

“It was literally a week after my surgery so I was freaking out!” Clarkson said.

Again, the star was rushed to the hospital.

“I was hysterically laughing and crying at one point in the E.R. like ‘What is happening?’” she recounts. Thankfully, “I’m great now. I’m totally great now.”
