Kelly Clarkson has stunned fans this year with her rendition of a Marvin Gaye classic on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Earlier this year, she performed a rendition of a Marvin Gaye classic, I Heard it Through the Grapevine. The performance was done remotely, of course, yet Kelly Clarkson did not fail to impress. Her rendition was partnered with a Karaoke segment, which she calls the "Kellyoke" segment. Clarkson's band and the music were set up at her studio while she had to perform the song from home.

She twisted the song to match her own aesthetic and the result was wonderful. After adding a hint of blues and her own style to this song, the performance was one that her audience would never soon forget.

I Heard it Through the Grapevine was a hit during its time. It ranked at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and gave Marvin Gaye his well-deserved time in the spotlight. Kelly Clarkson has long channeled Gaye in her music career. Back in 2002 during her time in American Idol, she performed yet another of the singer's songs. She performed the song You're All I Need to Get By. Kelly Clarkson was the first-ever winner of the show when it was released in 2002.

In August of 2020, Clarkson performed her own version of the 1965 Motown classic, I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch). The rendition was so popular that her fans pleaded with her to release a Motown album. While she did not follow through with their request, she has been singing various classics here and there. She personalizes them with her own touch and makes these songs sound better than ever.

On The Kelly Clarkson Show, her Kellyoke segment has introduced some of her most popular covers of songs from artists such as Whitney Houston, Rascal Flatts, and Wynonna Judd.

Since Clarkson's win of American Idol in 2002, her career has only gone uphill. She topped the Billboard charts multiple times during her career. Some of her more notable songs are A Moment Like This and Breakaway, which won her two Grammy Awards. After a few more hit singles, she finally launched the show of her dreams. Her first guest on the show was Dwayne Johnson in 2019.
