Kelly Clarkson Shows Off Stunning New Bob After Emotional Talk Show Goodbye

Kelly Clarkson is stepping into a new chapter with a fresh new look.

The Grammy-winning singer, 44, debuted a chic, wavy bob on Sept. 21, 2026, while making appearances on “Today” and “The Late Show with Seth Meyers,” showing off one of her shortest hairstyles in years.

The chin-length cut featured soft waves and a relaxed, tousled finish, giving Clarkson a noticeably different look as she moves into a new phase of her career and life. The timing was particularly fitting, as her new hairstyle arrived just weeks after the emotional conclusion of “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

After seven seasons and more than 1,200 episodes, the daytime talk show aired its final episode on Aug. 31, 2026. Clarkson had announced earlier in the year that she was stepping away from the show in order to prioritize her children, daughter River Rose, 12, and son Remington Alexander, 10.

Now, the singer is settling into life in New York with her children while continuing to pursue music and television projects on a schedule that gives her more flexibility.

During her Sept. 21 appearance on “Today,” Clarkson opened up about what life has been like since the end of her talk show, describing herself as “momming it” in New York.

The new haircut made its debut as she embraced that transition, although Clarkson did not publicly say that the bob was specifically connected to ending her show.

Clarkson also reflected on her emotional final “Kellyoke” performance during her conversation with Seth Meyers. For the show’s last installment of the popular singing segment, Clarkson chose “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters,” explaining that it had been the most requested song by viewers.

But performing the track proved to be quite the challenge.

Clarkson admitted that she had never practiced so hard for a song, particularly because of its demanding vocal range. Her son even offered some brutally honest feedback while she rehearsed at home.

“When I first started singing it, my son, who cannot help but be honest, just kept doing a walk-by in the house and being like, ‘That sounds real high,’” Clarkson recalled.

She ultimately felt proud of the performance, especially after viewers responded positively to her final “Kellyoke.”

While her daytime hosting days may be behind her, Clarkson certainly isn’t slowing down. She released her single “I’d Be Lying” in July and has returned as a coach for Season 30 of “The Voice.”

She is also preparing for another major milestone: her first performance at the Stagecoach festival in 2027.

And as for how she plans to dress for the country music festival, Clarkson appears to be taking the same approach to her style that she has taken with her new haircut — following her mood.

“I’m kind of the person that can show up in sequins and bedazzled out, or I could show up in jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t know,” she explained. “I don’t know where I’m at that day, Seth. I don’t know what I feel.”

For now, though, the singer appears perfectly happy with her fresh bob — and whatever comes next.
