American pop star Kelly Clarkson has extremely powerful vocals, and she has put them to good use this month by singing a song to honor all frontline workers who are working flat out to look after us all during the coronavirus pandemic. In a virtual episode of her show The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson belted out a rendition of You Say by Lauren Daigle to honor these workers.

Clarkson sang the song on Monday with some virtual help from her bandmates, reports ET Canada. The emotive video features some special guest appearances from key workers themselves, such as doctors, nurses and other frontline workers. We see them dressed in their work attire, in their work environments, wearing scrubs, masks and other protective equipment. This really reminds us of the selfless work they are carrying out.

Clarkson chose to do a rendition of this song in particular as the beautiful lyrics perfectly fit the sentiment she wanted to portray with her performance. The footage shows clips of friends and family of healthcare workers holding up signs to say "thank you."

It is a touching gesture to celebrate the hardwork of key workers, and it must be an amazing boost for them to feel the support and appreciation of all those around them.

The 38-year-old singer, who rose to fame after winning the first season of American Idol, has always been known to become overwhelmed with emotion when she performs. This video was no different! The video ends with Clarkson speaking to the camera, clearly tearful, saying: "You’re crying, I’m fine." We can definitely attest to this – but we're sure everyone who watches it will be moved too.

Kelly Clarkson is always a powerful performer, but knowing the motivation behind this song makes it even more special. What do you think of this performance? Pass the spirit of this cover on to your friends and family members.
