Country singer Kelly Clarkson hosted the annual Billboard Music Awards for the second consecutive year, in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, The Voice coach had to cut short her celebrations after the show as she was rushed to emergency surgery to get her appendix removed.
Apart from hosting the event, Kelly also performed some songs. She kicked off the event by singing ‘Meant to Be’ by Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line.
After that, she performed a few medleys of popular hits. Some of the songs include ‘Girls Like You’ by Maroon 5, ‘Material Girl’ by Madonna, ‘The Middle’ by Zedd, Grey’s, and Marren Morris, ‘Boo’d up’ by Ella Mai, and other songs.

However, her highlight medley performance came when she sang ‘I Like It’ by Cardi B, J Balvin, and Bad Bunny. She rapped in Spanish the same way that Balvin does in the song. The audience was both surprised and impressed.
Another stunning moment came when Kelly Clarkson performed her hit song ‘Broken & Beautiful’. The audience stood up to hear that beautiful voice sing with passion.
She looked perfectly fine as she did all this. However, after she went backstage, she started complaining about back pains. This was after she had finished all her hosting duties.
She was rushed to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where the doctors successfully removed her appendix. The next day she sent out a tweet to her fans saying that she was feeling much better, and there’s nothing to be concerned about.
What’s really interesting about this story is that Kelly Clarkson was suffering from appendicitis before she walked on stage to host the Billboard Awards.
She had been dealing with the pain all week long and was determined to fulfill her duties as the show’s host.
We are glad that the surgery went well and the singer is recovering. We wish her a speedy recovery.
