Kelly Clarkson Defends Adding Streaks To 6-Year-Old Daughter's Hair

Earlier this month, American singer/songwriter Kelly Clarkson recently caused quite a stir across the internet when she made a post on her Twitter account. The post was related to her putting purple streaks in her 6-year-old daughter River's hair.

In an age where celebrity moms often face a lot of online criticism for their choices, this post has ended up generating a lot of views, and a bit of controversy. With this fact in mind, Kelly Clarkson felt the need to clarify some things about her decision to let her daughter have some fun with purple streaks in her hair.

Kelly Clarkson is the proud mother of a 6-year-old daughter named River. It is nothing particularly unusual for a child of this age to ask to put some interesting colors in their hair and this is exactly what River did. Her mom Kelly did not disappoint and said yes to this request. She posted about this on her Twitter account and it was not long before the internet was going crazy.

The reality is that the purple dye that Kelly Clarkson used for her daughter River's hair was a totally safe and organic product. Regardless of this, she still felt that she had to make this point clear to the public. Even though this was made clear, that did not stop a lot of unfair criticism from coming her way.

Clarkson wrote on Twitter:

"I put a purple streak in my daughter’s hair today and I swear to you she thinks she is as cool as Prince now🤣  Full on air guitar, singing at the top of her lungs, that is what’s happening... and before I get attacked for being the worst mom ever, it’s safe, organic paint 🙄."

The reality of this situation is that Kelly's daughter River was probably having a great time with her new look hairstyle.

The good news about this story is that not all of the commentary was critical of Kelly Clarkson's decision to let her daughter River put purple streaks in her hair. Kelly also received a lot of support from the online community as well. Though there were criticisms, the overwhelming majority of respondents online were praising her for the fun idea.
