Kelly Clarkson Can’t Believe Her Eyes In Sneak Peek 'The Voice' Audition

The 16th season of The Voice is underway and already an amazing success. This shouldn’t be much of a surprise when you consider the blind audition used to hype the premiere.

The blind audition let us know right off the bat that season 16 was going to a bit different than years past. John Legend joins the cast, and that’s a big deal. The show is also returning to the one female coach and three male coaches format that it had used for so long.

In order to kick off excitement for the premiere, the show released a clip via YouTube. It featured Kim Cherry performing a rendition of No Scrubs by TLC, and it got the attention of Kelly and Blake.

What perhaps impressed Clarkson and Shelton most was the rap break. Cherry not only handled the song but slid easily into the rap section normally performed by skilled rapper Lisa Lopez. Clarkson was already ready to turn for her, but at that moment, her mouth dropped.

Blake Shelton was so impressed by the performance as well that he fought for Cherry to be on his team.

Adam Levine and Legend were clearly amused by watching their friends compete. Shelton remarked that Cherry’s choice showed a fearlessness that would serve her well.

In a more humorous moment, Shelton also worked to convince everyone that rapping was his thing despite what y’all may think. Have you ever heard Boys ‘Round Here, he asked? I lay it down.

Shelton also motivated Cherry to pick with some insight. He said that if she picked him, she’d be hot news all over Twitter and other social media platforms because of how different they seemingly are.

Clarkson made fun of him instead. Legend and Levine ganged up as well, but the point had been made. Both made some pretty good arguments why Cherry should choose them over the other. Do you know who she chose?

You can watch the blind audition clip, but… spoiler… it doesn’t reveal the choice. You’ll have to watch the actual episode or at least a clip posted after it aired!

So, how about that blind audition? Was it everything you expected it to be or perhaps more? So many surprises! Let the other Voice fans here know what you’re thinking, feeling and looking forward to!
