Keith Urban’s Moving Interaction With A Kid With Special Needs In His Concert Left Everyone Tearing Up

Country music singer Keith Urban is a legend in his own right. Originally born in New Zealand, Urban has been making waves internationally ever since he landed in Nashville, Tennessee, in the early 1990s. Beloved for his music, he’s also shown himself to be a kind and generous person who seems to always have a positive attitude, which has made him incredibly popular with his fans.

On top of his stellar music career, Urban is also married to iconic Australian actress Nicole Kidman, making them one of Hollywood’s most beloved Australian couples.

Because of the pandemic, many live music events were put on hold for the past two years. Now, artists and musicians like Urban have started touring the world again as health protocols continue to ease up.

On the road for his “The Speed of Now” World Tour, Urban had been touring the United States since May 2022, capping off Nov. 4, 2022, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Among the amazing moments that Urban has shared with his fans during his tour, one interaction seemed to have stood out among the rest – bringing everyone on the internet to tears because of the touching moment.

Musicians like Urban surely have a lot of fans, but one would say that he would appeal to the older generation, given that he rose to prominence in the early 90s. But surprisingly, Urban also found a fan in a little kid with special needs at one of his concerts in the United States.

As a genuine person himself, Urban took the time and paused his performance and decided to approach his fans who were in front of the stage – little did he know, it was a moment that would send everyone in the stadium (and online) tearing up in joy.

Urban was born on Oct. 26, 1967, in New Zealand and grew up in Queensland, Australia. He is most known for his unique voice, songwriting abilities, and his impeccable skills as a guitarist. Urban released his debut self-titled album in 1991 and moved to the United States the following year, finding his footing in the country music industry. Some of his most well-known songs include “You’ll Think of Me,” “You Look Good in My Shirt,” and “Sweet Thing.”

Growing up, Urban had a rough childhood, especially with a father who had never made him feel like he was loved. Ultimately, the musician grew past that and strived to become the father that he wanted to have when he was a child. Thankfully, he has a partner in life, “Days of Thunder” actress Kidman, to share his children with.

The couple met at G’Day LA, which is an event to honor Australians living in Los Angeles. Their relationship began a few years after Kidman finalized her divorce from her ex-husband, Tom Cruise. Kidman and Urban were married in Sydney, Australia, where they currently reside.

Urban is now a father to two beautiful kids, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, who was born in 2008 and 2010, respectively. On plenty of occasions, Urban has spoken dearly of his two children, expressing how happy he is to be a father and the experience of seeing them grow.

The Grammy-winning singer’s commitment to fatherhood is something that has surely given him the push and interact with his fans at one of his concerts in the United States.

Upon speaking to a couple standing in front of the stage, Urban was introduced to their son, Kellen, who was later on revealed to have been celebrating a pretty remarkable achievement.

The couple, named Chris and Whitney Hammock, both hailing from Illinois, introduced their 6-year-old son with special needs, Kellen, to Urban. Upon learning their names, Urban reached out to what seemed to be a cardboard guitar that little Kellen was using. He then proceeded to sign the blinged makeshift guitar as Chris, the dad, spelled Kellen’s name to the singer.

After a few moments, Urban let Chris talk only to reveal a particularly special information to the crowd:

“They said he would never walk or talk and now he knows all of your songs,” Chris said before the whole Peoria Civic Center in Illinois erupted into “awws” and applauses.

Touched with what the little boy had braved at a young age, Urban reached out and proceeded to hug Kellen, sending everyone to louder applause.

The video is now uploaded on the internet by the kid’s mother, Whitney, and captioned: “Memories that will last a lifetime.” Eventually, the video went viral and sent everyone watching the moving clip to tears.

On the reposted video of the Good News Movement, fans of the 55-year-old musician are touched by the candid interaction.

“So beautiful! Keith Urban showing love to his fans and these incredible parents giving their son every opportunity to live life to the fullest! How can you not love this moment,” a fan commented

“This moment is a testament to your son’s strength, Keith’s heart and the incredible support and love you give your son! Thanks for sharing this beautiful moment with us!” another user shared on Whitney’s post.

“Ok made me cry. Love good people,” someone said in the comment section.
