Keith Urban performed three Marty Robbins songs during the 2009 ACM Artist of the Decade All-star Concert—he even showed off some of his yodeling skills while singing the song, Singing the Blues.

Most celebrities manage to leave an impact before they pass away. For singer Marty Robbins, one can only imagine how much more popular he would have become if he was still alive. However, his songs are still regarded as the finest country music has to offer.

One of the most successful crossover artists in his lifetime, Robbins was well-known in both the country and pop genres' music charts. His success has caused his songs to be treasured up until today. One of his most popular hits, El Paso is still widely played today.

In 2009, a group of the top country music stars got together to celebrate a more popular star: George Strait. Our own "King of Country," George Strait was selected as ACM's "Artist of the Decade" and was given a tribute concert.

In addition to honoring Strait on his accomplishment, the ACM also honored previously influential artists. Marty Robbins was chosen to represent the 1960s, an honor that was rightfully bestowed. During the 1960s, his music dominated the top song charts making him the most popular voice of the decade.

The honor of paying tribute to Marty Robbins at the ACM Artist of the Decade All-Star Concert was given to Keith Urban. Urban took his task with great weight and represented our iconic star with great pride as he stood on the center of the stage while images of Robbins flashed behind him.

Urban gave his own rendition of the popular song, Singing the Blues, which was first recorded by Marty Robbins. People in the audience recall the best moment of the performance being when Keith Urban gave a little yodel in his rendition.

After his short performance, Urban played a short solo on his guitar to one of Robbin's more signature pieces: El Paso. An excellent rendition, Urban played the song perfectly and then transitioned to a faster song, A White Sport Coat (and a Pink Carnation).

Upon hearing Urban's perfect performance, it is obvious that he took the time and put in enough effort to master each song. A performance worthy of paying tribute to legend Marty Robbins, Keith Urban was obviously the best choice for the occasion.

The performance left the audience in awe as they heard familiar tunes played perfectly in front of images of late Marty Robbins.

We think Keith Urban was rightfully chosen to give tribute to late Marty Robbins based on his amazing performance. What do you think? Be sure to show your friends the video of Urban's performance and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
