As a large part of the world is overtaken by protective measures put in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19, events have been cancelled and people the world over are self-isolating, with celebrities being no exception. Country music singer Keith Urban gave fans a moment to rejoice among the chaos, as he performed a concert at home and live-streamed it for the world to enjoy.

Backed by musician Jeff Linsenmaier, Keith Urban's wife, actress Nicole Kidman, also appears in the impromptu concert, dancing and singing along. The 30-minute event was live-streamed on Urban's Instagram, using the app's IGTV feature.

Urban explains in the video that he decided to perform the impromptu concert as he was scheduled to perform that night, with the show cancelled due to the ongoing crisis. He said "I was supposed to play tonight and I just thought it would be nice to play anyway, even though we can't be in front of all of you guys tonight. I just wanted to play some songs and bring a little bit of entertainment into your screens."

He then kicks into rock star mode and delivers a relaxed yet energetic concert that feels both intimate and shared with many people all over the world. At the end of the concert, while loudly playing his guitar, he begins to thank everybody who made it possible –– including Andy behind the camera, Jeff on backing support, his wife Nicole, and all the people at home enjoying the livestream.

The musician is set to have a big year ahead, with the release of his forthcoming album, which is expected to cross genres a bit. Last month he released the single "God Whispered Your Name", a song from the upcoming album. Urban was also meant to host and perform at the 55th ACM Awards next month on April 5, however the awards ceremony has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis

Accompanying his post, the musician wrote #InstaBand below the video. He makes a joke in the video that his backing musician, Jeff, is the so-called InstaBand, but who knows, perhaps with the new and increasing measures that the world is taking with Coronavirus, Instagram concerts will become a regular occurrence.

What's positive about the situation is that music and a sense of community can help us all in these hard times, so if artists like Urban are happy to indulge the public with such acts, then it'll be better for all of us. In times like this it's nice to know that our favorite musicians and celebrities still want to share joy with the world, making each day much easier to get through.
